At my gym there are a lot of really hot looking young ladies! I was wondering is it okay to look at them? I find myself looking at the girls all the time. I try not to stare, but I just can't help it. is it normal?

If you find a lady attractive, approach her outside the gym. Don't stare at her while she's working out or approach her in the gym. Ladies who work out are fully formed adults and know how to attract a particular man's attention if they like him. You don't want a general attention-seeker anyway, generally characterized by provocative dress *and* demeanor. Remember, don't stare and approach outside.

Again. this IS a good comparison. My wife has made the same comment to me. Unwanted stares from a man who is staring can be compared to a man who gets unwanted stares from a man who is gay.

It doesn't matter if the person is from the opposite sex when he is a turnoff.

I've experienced this, and it didn't bother me, I just felt bad having to turn them down because I just had and still have no attraction to the same sex.

I think it's cute that a poster believed that there's some sort of universal difference in a 2/3/4/5 second stare.. C'mon, now..

I don't really care if I look like a creeper for looking at someone who more than half of the time looks back at me.. Basically another creeper. It's never done anyone any harm. Much better than being a prude with an irrational fear of women and anything having to do with sex. At least they know I'm there, instead of avoiding eye contact and being totally invisible..

And I can see that women stare as well, they just do it more subtly.. It's still sort of creepy in it's own right, subtle or blatant.

Ok, so on this thread lots of women (and some men) have agreed that persistent staring at someone in the gym is creepy, where as a quick appreciative glance is OK.

Some of the posters have basically said, I don't find it creepy therefore your opinion is wrong. Or, you can't define staring so your opinion is wrong. Or it's not creepy if the guy is good looking, so you're wrong.

These are peoples feelings! They are not consistent, they don't always follow logic and they might not make sense to you but you can't say they are wrong.

It's bad social form to make another feel uncomfortable by any means, especially in a public setting where they may already feel a bit self-conscious.

(PS for the record, I've done competitive sports from an an early age and women's participation in sport and body-image is something i feel very strongly about, so this thread pushes my buttons a little!)

I go to a pretty small gym which caters to wimps and those looking for style more so then working out. there is this specific girl who comes alot and u can see she wants penis badly. she does everything to get attention and get guys to talk to her.

she bends over and does her stretches and holds it for a few seconds. she wears these tights and because she's been wearing them for so long the fabric has thinned out and is even see through with certain lighting. she this tight petite body with this huge gap between her legs. she wears this tight top and she bends over and you can see her thong tight up her azz and I cant stand it. beautiful body...face...eh. and after a workout I can stab someone with my thing. What I would do for her to let me get on my knees to sniff and taste her after her sweaty workouts..oof!! if only we men could control ourselves we could rule the world.

I dont stare and try not to even look. most times I turn away otherwise it ruins my concentration and focus. unlike most men who seem to turn to goliath when a woman works out next to them, I cant train properly. I become samson with cut hair. I wish there were no woman allowed in our gym so I could have a good workout. damn you woman!

Omg what a story. You don't happen to work out here in FL do you? I'd like to check out that gym!

With a perverse description like that you have to do this chic and tell us all about it in this thread. How staring was okay, but fcking was better! Seriously you could have her bend over and just stare at her as foreplay.

Hopefully you wipe the gym equipment off after you use it.

Oh god, wiping off the gym equipment. What a pain.

Don't ever feel bad for having to turn a gay guy down. It's never happened to me, but if it did I'd put them in their place. I once grabbed a girl by the hair and through her off me when she out of no where kissed me. I can only imagine what I'd do to a gay guy who got fresh! Also don't feel bad for rejecting ugly chicks, take it as a compliment and move them aside lol.

As for being a creep. I've found women love creeps. They are just looking for their creep. I mean think of any love story and how creepy it is if the "wrong" guy had been doing it. You gotta creep it up. And you have to stare at women at the gym if only to keep you coming back. I like you work out a lone but when I do work out at the gym I always stare at hot chicks if they're around. Just like I do at the beach or any where else!

Look women are going to tell you not to stare. Her little brother might come up and say "stop staring at my sister!" Some times you just have to stare. No one from the gym staff has ever come over and said "Please sir leave the gym if you're going to keep staring at that young sexy woman... just leave now!"

Never happened. The thing about a girls little brother coming over to say "stop staring at my sister" did happen to a friend of mine once, he told the kid to fck off!

People have been asked to leave . A man at a gym

I worked at yrs ago kicked a gay guy out if the gym.

This guy tried talking to all the bodybuilders

Over and over.

the guy would strare at guys and rub his crotch

He would walk around naked in the locker room

And try to get men to talk to him.

Enough complaints one day he showed up

His account was terminated

He was handed a contract saying golds

Gym has the right to refuse membership

To anyone.

Guy yelled in screamed eventually left

Well I've never walked around the women locker room naked rubbing myself.

What this guy did goes beyond what we're talking about.

Don't be a white knight for this no staring thing.

Wow man! What she would see if she caught you looking: http://images5.fanpop.com/image/photos/31500000/My-Body-is-Ready-random-31574400-320-319.png

Best answer IMO.

Giving a woman an admiring glance or two or three with a friendly smile says, "You are beautiful." Staring at her breasts or butt simply shows that you consider her a sex object. Most women like respectful admiration...even if you look at her body. What they get creeped out by is the long looks by a complete stranger.

Again. this IS a good comparison. My wife has made the same comment to me. Unwanted stares from a man who is staring can be compared to a man who gets unwanted stares from a man who is gay.

It doesn't matter if the person is from the opposite sex when he is a turnoff.

Both of these are fair comments.

Also, we could do a little social experiment. Guys, next time you are out, put how much you earn and your job title on your t-shirt. If you get lots of admiring glances and smiles, lets see how good it makes you feel. if you get ignored, lets also talk about that. Lets compare it to your experiences without your income and job title being plastered across your chest.

Objectively speaking, men don't want to be wanted for their money and women don't just want to be wanted for our looks. While our financial accomplishments might make us feel good, as <well> as our looks, at the end of it, neither gender wants to be objectified for these things. No amounts of "well, I am a guy", justify treating women like that. Being a man is not equal to objectifying women.

Okay, here's the deal. Women KNOW men look. So, I don't understand why they get upset and think a guy is a perv because he appreciates the female form. Hell, it's even in womens fashion. How many women have worn sweat pants with "Harvard" or "Juicy" or "pink" written across the ass. Because they know men look there so they might as well advertise there.

Girls always ask guys or even other girlfriends how they look in their new jeans, or blouse, or pants. Because they know they're going out in public and people are going to look, so they want to see if they look okay.

Okay, I'll agree with staring is creepy. But, a glance....don't bash on a guy. Smile and give him a friendly wink. Problem solved.

Really? I thought supposedly that in America only little kids and teens wore clothing that had words on it, that's how a lot of LS posters make it out to be anyway.

What would be your point of staring at hot chicks at the gym? I'd rather actually meet them and date them, and that generally would involve me not creeping them out in the meanwhile.

Instead of worrying whether it is OK to keep looking at a woman in the gym, a guy would be better off concerning himself with how he could actually *talk* to her there instead.

Let me give you a tip if you want to be seen as sexy from guys.

If you have a nice body, wear a spandex pants that ends right at the knee. it's very appropriate and very sexy at the same time.

Obviously if you are not in shape, whatever you wear won't help.

The problem is it's getting popular among Any women. women with not great body wear it these days. (like skinny guy wearing under armour tight shirts)

You don't really know much about America do you? Lots of grown ups wear clothing that has words on it. The thing about girls with Juicy or Pink on their butt is called branding or something like that. It's wear a particular brand becomes popular. Girls also think it's cute or something like that. I think wow her butt looks juicy I want to bite right in or... pink spotted! lol

Creepers stare. Admirers sneak looks.

Don't be a creeper.

Maybe Lorna Jane should come out with gym wear that has this slogan written on it. Make a good bumper sticker too.

Wish there was more hot chicks in the free weight room at my gym. Most are in the aerobics room or on the tread mills, so it means pretty much any non massive female will get checked out when they lift weights, but the majority of guys know the difference between staring and glancing.

If you cant handle it go to an all female gym..there's plenty around now for women uncomfortable with working out in front of men.

BUMP # 2 (I'm just really immature).

The back and forth on this thread was more entertaining than the new James Bond movie I saw the other night. Besides, I was bored - Direct TV doesn't hook me up until this Friday :).

Gym was busy today cause it was the first really cold day of winter. Tons of hotties! if course same ones I always see.

When I was walking in the parking lot (walking quick cause I was cold) Just happend to glance over and see one of those super hotties getting out of her car and walking to the gym too. She happend to look at me and smile a tad. Of course I didnt slow down, or wait up to hold the door for her. I was really cold! Was pretty nice because while I was on the treadmill, she was infront of me in the workout space with the personal trainer doing situps, lifting dumbells, etc. Had a nice view of her.

Next time you go shopping and you see a guy that looks like he probably doesn't get much action...yeah, that's right. He's creeping on you when you're not looking. Thus, you should not go anywhere, problem solved.

Seriously, I can understand. I don't mind chicks checking me out at all and I am over even thinking about dudes checking me out. I even shower in my gym because I just don't care. The worst case of a creeper I had was when I was lap swimming and I flip turn to go back the other way and see a dude sitting on the edge of my lane. As I get closer, I notice he is staring at me fondling himself.

I reported him to the gym. They had video of the whole thing, with really good view of exactly what he was doing. He got kicked out of the club and reported as a sex offender. I didn't go beyond that.

I live in Italy babe. Even If i was 400kilo with a shower curtain as a dress, id have almost every man looking. Most Italian men would smell your ass as you walk by If they could.

Great training ground for man whores.

I don't know if this might be a gender issue. I decided to poll all the folks I work with out here, all guys of course, and every single one of them said that they wouldn't mind if a woman stared at them while they were working out.

Is it because they are men? Or is it because they are "confident" and don't care what others do or think about them? Wouldn't discomfort in such a situation imply insecurity and lack of confidence...?

It's because women don't have a penis (99% of the time) and they can't surprise you in a dark alley later.

It amazes me how men just don't understand that being smaller and weaker and having something (a vagina) that so many men so obviously want makes women feel so vulnerable.

I don't know what's worse, men that force themselves on you or men who are completely ignorant about it. It's like an old guy - a former soldier though that part is probably irrelevant - asked me once why women were so precious about rape.

I'm pretty sure if all of you guys here who don't get this were in prison, you would hesitate to pick up the soap from the floor ;)

I understand men and women are different as I don't let PC thought infect my mind. I also understand that scaring women and creeping them out need not be something I concern myself with.

This is an interesting point. Should men be sympathetic towards this concern, whether it is real or merely a conceived notion?

So logically, it would follow that men who have insecurities of "weakness" and "vulnerability" due to their height, or education, or income, or penis size, etc, whether real or perceived, should receive sympathy from women. That is, women should ensure special treatment and consideration for these less fortunate individuals.

It's beginning to sound a lot like affirmative action...

I thought gym and when you have personal trainers is where you go to get fit isn't that why they opened gyms in the first place....not to perve and plan a launch attack in an alley...im going to gym to get fit work out start up kick boxing lose weight tone then participate in a triathlon next year...so while i am dying with sets the last thing on my mind is perving on someones butt.......i would assume the majority of the men going there have no intention of perving on my butt...its shrinking anyway they wont see it when my t shirt reaches my knees...they seem intent on working out my gym is a lifestyle center so deeply rooted in changing whole lifestyle eating patterns smoking fitness and life time goals and based on personal training with circuit where we all get together on the weekend......i have decided the better i look the bigger the clothing so thanks for the thread.....i still dotn think my gym is like a pick up joint or place where guys perv....
