SJC2008 Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 The girl I'm dating wore a hat on one of our dates and I wanted to tell her she looked really cute. She's a pretty girl, not universal but I can see it, like in her own way. Can you call a girl cute? Is that weird?

I always used to think cute was good....a girlfriend of mine in the past had a different take.....she told me cute she thought cute meant ugly but interesting....that was in response to me telling her a guy thought i was cute....lol...in my younger days that is i aint cute no more.....i think however as a woman now cute means fluffy kittenish.......attractive is a bolder statement
Negative Nancy Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 She's a pretty girl, not universal but I can see it, like in her own way. That's exactly how I would interpret the term "cute". Attractive in her own way, but not "drop dead gorgeous" or "hot", eliciting the "wow"-response in him. Yes, we know what "cute" in men's language means: "doable", but he will always dream about the hot 9s and 10s.

To be more specific, saying it in a certain instance, like when she had the hat on, she looked really cute.

threebyfate Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 If she's a girl you're dating and you liked her hat, it's the perfect opportunity to sweep her into your arms and kiss her unexpectedly. This will prompt a "what was that all about?" flustered response from her, where you'll tell her how wonderful she looks in the hat. Win/win. Much better than "you look cute in your hat". I personally despise that word. 5

runner Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 i don't care to be called cute myself, so i make sure not to use it on a girl i like. i might describe an object on her as 'cute' but that's as far as i'd go.

And it's miles better than a neg! But the above scenario would definitely take any sting out of it. 1
mesmerized Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 Why are people so against cute?I once called this guy I find to be very hot cute and then had to explain to him that it's a good thing to be called cute lol
Eternal Sunshine Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 I would take it as a compliment. I am more cute than hot so I am realistic I actually take it all the same way: pretty, hot, cute, beautiful, attractive...whatever a man calls me I just interpret it as "he thinks I look good". 6

That's how you should see it. I don't think I'm cute and I think other people agree cause I rarely been called that. Mostly by ex boyfriends and girl friends when I did something cute and not much because I looked cute.
Eternal Sunshine Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 I tend to call guys I find attractive cute. I hope they don't get offended 2
Lonely Ronin Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 I tend to call guys I find attractive cute. I hope they don't get offended I am a little bit, children are cute. Adults are handsome, attractive, pretty, beautiful, gorgeous, ravishing, etc.
MrCastle Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 I tend to call guys I find attractive cute. I hope they don't get offended Oh good. This chick yesterday pinched my face a few times at random accompanied with "you're so cute!". I was concerned but I figured it was no big deal. She said it while riding me furiously, so. 1

Eternal Sunshine Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 My ex often told me that I look cute and sweet with curly hair "like a doll" and sexy and hot with straight hair. I was just glad that he wasn't criticizing the way I looked 1
GirlontheLam Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 As long as it isn't "you're so cute, you remind me of my little sister."

My hair is naturally pretty wavy and I am sick of straightening it
