OK this girl I dig and that I know digs me too, wants me to come over on Wednesday to watch movies with her. Shes totally leaving the choice up to me, but I dont know what to pick! Now lucky shes as crazy about movies as I am so indie flicks are totally acceptable.

I have the following movies that I think would be good potential choices:

Chasing Amy

Memento

The Professional

I was also thinking maybe:

The Princess Bride

Donnie Darko

Say Anything (:p)

Reality Bites

Thats about all I can think of. Suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated.

What's an indie flick?

It all depends on how you want the evening to evolve.

I would go with chick flicks all the way, if I were you (Luckily I happen to like chick flicks, so it's no problem)

Here's a selection

The English Patient

A walk in the clouds

Don Juan de Marco (the Johnny Depp one)

What women want

Captain Whatsisname's Mandolin (forgot the name)

I'd also add some darker movies, just for interest's sake (and to not make it so obvious)

Trainspotting

Heat

The Silence of the Lambs

Frankenstein (the one with Kenneth Branaugh and Robert deNiro)

Space Balls... You quote Space Balls and actually ask for movie ideas?!?

I think you answered your own question my friend.

;)

Is this your 1st date? If so keep it light to avoid awkward moments- Space Balls!

also- Chasing Amy was great- Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas is one of my faves.

80's movies rock-Say Anything is good but I wouldn't go that sappy for the 1st date. Think the Brat Pack

Donny Darko is good b/c it's suspensful w/dark humor.

What about horror movies- great way to get close and avoid sap. Many are filled w/unintentional humor as well.

Well, 'Memento' sucked. 'Chasing Amy' is okay. 'The Professional'... ah, I dunno. Better than the others.

Chick flicks, hmmm. Why not get 'The Butterfly Effect' unless you both saw it in theaters? I noticed in Blockbuster last week that it's out on DVD now. 'Hidalgo', too. And '13 Going on 30'. I've seen all three and I would rate them in that order.

See, I'm the kind of girl that would suggest 'A Clockwork Orange' so I better stay out of it.

I'm all over Clockwork too!

I agree w/Butterfly Effect- it's a Perfect date movie.

another GREAT chick flick that will make her feel cozy is

VALLEY GIRL - a little less known but women love it - trust me on this

Bump means you're "bumping" the post up to ensure it's at the top of the first page. Thats the only purpose of the post. You could make the post empty, but then it's meaning is in question. Bump is honest, and it's purpose is (almost :D) universally understood.

Now I get it

BTW- Valley Girl is Awesome! Plus the tunes are great. I'm such an 80's freak.

Hmm,

Chick flix: The wedding singer, Sweet Home Alabama, 50 First Dates to name a few

Action: Kill Bill Vol. 1 & 2, Underworld, S.W.A.T., The Rundown

A.I. was a good movie too. Hate to admit it but this movie pulled the tears right out of me. I liked Bruce Almighty too.

Chasing Amy, Princess Bride (also one of my favorites), The Professional- if I went by your list, Al.

Princess Bride. Oh, how many times have I used THAT tactic in my dating days. <sigh> GOod times.

Anyway, go for that, I say, as well as...hmm....how about Frequency? Or Dumb and Dumber? You've GOt Mail?

A.I. wrecked the HELL out of me. Ugh. I was the only one of my friends to be crying. I love that movie. I was to' UP!
