Its been weeks since I have seen or talked to my ex....but every night I dream about her. I cant get her out of my head and I think these dreams are really making it tough for me to move on. Any advice?

I've had similar dreams, most of them were good dreams about us very happy together. Then I started having dreams where the whole dream was just me trying to make her jealous and I would even say "I'm doing this to make my ex jealous" in the dream. Ways to stop them from happening? Well think about other things before you go to sleep. Fantasize that you are doing something crazy.

These dreams are a subconscious mind trying to rationalize and deal with topics you have yet to deal with. You must have somewhere within you a tense desire for your ex a problem to be solved. You dream only about what you most worry about.

With that said...do not let dreams get in the way of recovery. Go out and force your mind unto something else. Then you'll dream of that.

Go down to the drug store and pick up some Vitamin B1. It cures my dreams. I started taking it and I have dreamless sleep every night. It works wonders.

I dont necessarily want to have dreamless sleep. But all of my dreams are about me and my ex, sometimes hanging out, sometimes kissing. While they are very enjoyable and I wake up happy....its not good because it is in a way a fake reality. Its not real, so I dont want to fantasize about it anymore. I guess I probably do have some subconcious desire for her. I just dont know how to deal with that.....

All of these seem to work for me.

*TV low volume on a show you like that has nothing to do with relationships. (History channel, Comedy Central, Discovery are my go tos)

*Radio/Ipod. But a playlist with no sad breakup songs (upbeat ones dont bother me) Personal favorite is 50 ways to say goodbye by train.

*Read until you can barely keep your eyes open. Then turn the lights out and focus on what you read.

Great advice. Also a good diet with vitamins/minerals helps too. It helps with mental function.

I dream of my ex. Doesn't bother me -- I can't really control what I dream about. I have noticed they have gotten more negative as time has gone on. At first it was all lovey-dovey, bubblegum and candy stuff. Now I have dreams I'm with her and her sister on a trip and they are just nagging the crap out of me. So I guess that's my subconscious mind adjusting to the way things presently are.

This is what I worry about.....its been a year....theyre still all positive and lovey dovey. I make all this progress with moving on and then I go through this phases where I dream about her in a nice way for weeks at a time and it seems like it undoes all my progress.
