Mnesic Posted December 1, 2012 Posted December 1, 2012 We had a 4 manager meeting, we are all in same rank. 1 manager acted inappropriate towards me and it was very rude. She yelled at me for something that I did done wrong, which was not even related to her concern. I coordinated something wrong with another manager unrelated to her at all. I've had problems with this person before and she always tries to step on my head, I have reported it to my director before in other issues. I work in a professional environment. What she did was very unprofessional in my opinion. What is the best way to resolve this issue? This could be filed under emotional abuse. Any feedback would be appreciated, I will have a meeting on monday with HR director. Please reply before monday thank you for your time.
pink_sugar Posted December 2, 2012 Posted December 2, 2012 My husband is dealing with a similar situation at this work where the supervisor constantly threatens to write everyone up,especially for not cleaning, when they are doing the best they can. They are stuck with customers and unable to get to the cleaning. I told him to be blunt with her and say he's trying the best he can, he's currently helping customers and that he'll try and get to it when he has time. She even had the nerve to call a manager on their day off to try and say he was blatantly not listening to her. At this point, I encouraged him to have a talk with the general manager about the situation, that he's doing his job and told her he'd get to it when he can. Sorry you're going through this, if you cannot deal with her directly, I would talk to another supervisor.
CarrieT Posted December 2, 2012 Posted December 2, 2012 ]What is the best way to resolve this issue? You are doing exactly what should be done = reporting it to H.R. There has to be a systematic documentation of incidents. The offender may get written up. Don't be surprised if it doesn't happen immediately or if you don't know the exact outcome. ]This could be filed under emotional abuse. Here's the rub. What is this illusive "filing" you are referring to? You will report what occurred to H.R. They will investigate it; did it happen in front of others? What is the history of the people involved? If there were witnesses, they will have to be interviewed as well. Again, you may not hear of any specific outcome. The H.R. department has to take accusations carefully to - hopefully - assure there are no repercussions on either side. Good luck.
