I'm not sure how to pull this off. I'm a person who likes to dress up or attempt to dress nicely for a date (hair, nails, make-up, contacts), and since me and Michael are meeting after work I'm not really able to do that to my full extent. I plan to wear a slacks as usual and a sweater with a V neck. But my problem is my hair.

I have no idea how to fix it where it will look like date hair as apposed to I showered and went look of my usual wear. I wear it down most days but I don't know if I should shower the night before so it's dry enough to use the curling iron on it the next day or just add mouse after my shower to make it curly (I have wavy/curly hair naturally).

Thoughts/suggestions? I'm also a chronic spiller, and well a co-worker suggested I bring a shirt change, yes she did. I don't think I've been this rattled ever before! Usually I do my thing and just go with it, but for some reason this guy is different.

I have no suggestions but I feel your pain! Hair takes forever for me. If I had to go on a date after work, I'd get up extra early that morning and style it.

I would but I already get up at 4:45 for work. It's really tough as it is. I may just have to suck it up and do it though.

As a guy I won't give you advice on how to style your hair.

However, just keepin it real, if I liked a woman enough to go on a 2nd or third date with her, the hair wouldn't be a dealbreaker for me. I would already find her attractive enough to put little thought into the specifics of how she groomed her hair.

Of course, I would notice everything about her (including how she styled her hair), but I would just be happy to hang out and have fun. In other words, try not to stress out about it too much. In the overall scheme of things it will play a very small part of your success with him IMO.

Vote for work hair, and not getting all dolled up for a first date. Save that for later. Good luck whatever you decide.

I'd go with dry hair, with mousse. If by the end of the day it doesn't look ideal, bring some bobby pins and pin up the top half. That's always my emergency look, because your hair could have gone frizzy or flat but it always looks good pinned back. You can add volume that way too :)

I wouldn't wear a v-neck and pants, it's boring. I wouldn't go all out either because it's a first date, but I'd definitely put on a little bit of jewelry and put on something more feminine like a sheer top with a camisole underneath or a silk blouse. Pants with a narrow leg and high heels.
