Shaunashoe Posted November 30, 2012 Posted November 30, 2012 Well.. Me and my boyfriend are great in person. And we both want me away for my home. >.< And I really want to move up to where he is, and well.. I don't know what to do. I mean, it'd be sudden, I wouldn't have anywhere to go, I'd have money problems and I'm trying to think of a solution. Like get a job before, but I don't know if it'd work. Any suggestions? :/
umirano Posted November 30, 2012 Posted November 30, 2012 I need way more information to help you with this. Age? Qualification? What countries are we talking about? 1
Author Shaunashoe Posted November 30, 2012 Author Posted November 30, 2012 I'm 17, I have decent grades & in the UK >.<
justwhoiam Posted December 1, 2012 Posted December 1, 2012 I'm 17, I have decent grades & in the UK >.< You're too young. Give it more time and see if this love stands the test of time, before rushing into a permanent move.
Author Shaunashoe Posted December 1, 2012 Author Posted December 1, 2012 We've been together for over a year? :/
mammasita Posted December 1, 2012 Posted December 1, 2012 Establish your independence first. Get a job, save some money, finish school. The last position you want to be in is one where you are dependent on your boyfriend , or anyone for that matter, to live.
Author Shaunashoe Posted December 1, 2012 Author Posted December 1, 2012 That's the thing, no matter how much money I save up, I'd still have to be dependable on somewhere to live until I get a job with good money and stability.. I've thought it through and through, but all I want, and need is to get away from here and be somewhere I'm happy. I need to come up with a plan that will work :c
pettie Posted December 1, 2012 Posted December 1, 2012 In order to get that independence you want, money and stability, you need to study first. High school is not enough if you intend to go to another country. Assuming you are not European: Keep in mind that you cannot move into the UK just because. You can't just go and stay and settle there (assuming you don't need a tourist visa), because doing this would be ilegal and you'll end up with a big cross in your passport (which can follow you around for 10+ years). You will need to get a job first, before going to the UK, and then apply for a proper work visa. This scenario is very complicated given the current economic situation and the fact that you don't have higher qualifications doesn't leave you in a competitive position. Not sure if this is a possibility, but you can explore the idea of going to university in the UK - you'll be close to your boyfriend AND will get a degree. This is easier for someone your age, although it is expensive. You will need to get accepted into a British university before going there, and with that you'll be able to apply for a student visa. Think about that and how realistic it is, and if you/your parents/your family are capable of affording it. But from what you say, it appears that you don't have a good relationship with your family at the moment, so, again, not sure. Sorry that things are not as easy as one would like, that's how it works. Good luck, and above all, be realistic. Studies are of paramount importance. 1
Author Shaunashoe Posted December 1, 2012 Author Posted December 1, 2012 We both live in the UK, two hours away from each other. It sounds stupid I know, but yeah :/
Life'sGood Posted December 1, 2012 Posted December 1, 2012 I have to agree with what everyone have said. You need to establish yourself first. If you want to get away from home, maybe you can apply for a College/University close to your boyfriend? (that is, assuming you have finished high school) While at that, you can get a part time job so you can support yourself and be independent. You are at the age where you can easily choose your life's path, so choose wisely. Think of what you want in the bigger picture. What you want for your future.
