NoMoreJerks Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 Undershirt + long sleeve button up shirt + sweeter = Me melting. My issue with all the "dressing well" pictures is that they seem to be for colder climates and or men who can handle wearing a lot of layers. Where I live, I'm in shorts roughly 300 days a year. Half of the time I do end up wearing jeans, I'm wishing I was wearing shorts because I'm too hot. Well, no need for a sweater then -- just a dress shirt with jeans works as well. My ex used to wear a long sleeve dress shirt and roll up the sleeves, in the summer -- he wouldn't wear an undershirt, though. And let me tell you, summers here are incredibly HOT. If you're in California, then you really have very light winters, right? So, I think you might be ok with a dress shirt and some jacket on top. I don't like shorts on men lol, unless we're going to the beach or something... sorry, lol - it looks too college kid-like.
aussietigerwolf Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 As long as its not ripped or dirty/smelly then whatever the guy feels comfortable in.
betterdeal Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 It's a good question, because on one hand you may want to look good to others but on the other you want to feel good in what you're wearing. Dressing well needn't be dressing formal. The right jeans and the right t-shirt can be very different from the wrong ones. Think about the cut of things you buy, the lines and the way they hang on you. First, figure out what your assets and flaws are, and pick clothes that show off the former and forgive the latter. Also figure out what colours suit you and work with them. Lastly, bear in mind some simple rules, such as lighter garments up top and darker ones below works better as a general rule. If you feel most at home in jeans, have a pair for "best" or going out, as well as your everyday ones. Don't wear them all the time so that when you do, they aren't overworn and you'll notice the difference and your posture, gait, demeanour, and attitude will change subtly and in your favour.
threebyfate Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 dsw has decent stuff for men if you have one in your area. The Dr. Martens Men's Zack Slip ons, are a good casual look for men from age twenty on upwards. Doc Martens are usually unbeatable in comfort and durability. This site has them cheap. They'd be fine for business casual too. excellent - http://images-ff.asos-media.com/shmotterstorage/4300/large_6542f091-ee01-49ad-a5b0-f19cbcb8f5fa.jpegI agree that's an excellent look!
