Carenth Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 (edited) Today was quite an interesting day at work to say the least. I work for a medium sized family company (about 50 people). It is owned by two families, or it was until today, one of the families bought out the company entirely. They immediately fired a few long term staff members they didn't like a few others are resigning in protest to this, including my boss. I've been in the job about a year I have formed no real allegiances to either family. My boss is very loyal to the family that sold their share in the company and has indicated to me that he will be leaving to go work at the other families company. My job is not in threat and well basically I will be taking over my bosses old job I guess? My boss gave me some advice and said he will put in a good word for me, he also said that I was one of the best employees he had worked with and is going to try and get work for me at the other company he is going to. I'm really conflicted as to what I should do as my boss in all honesty is the best boss I have ever had, we are more friends than anything else. On the other hand this would be quite a step up the chain for me if I can pull it off I'm not really sure what to do atm my head is spinning. Edited November 28, 2012 by Carenth
