is this old custom still relevant in today's world, the man getting down on their hands and knees to propose. whether you like it or not we humans (more so if we're american) mostly learn how to behave by watching hollywood films. i don't see many men getting down on their hands in knees to propose, not that i've watched a lot of films from the 50s and 60s or recall many scenes from books written in the 19th century where men proposed. anyway, what do women think of this? would you like your future husband to get down on his hands and knees? how would this make you feel?

on his hands and knees sounds like he is about to beg like a dog......or scrub the floor....its on bended knee .......and yes i think it is a bit outdated...people should skydive there way into marriage .....if you can get a ring on a woman's finger while free falling before you have to parachute.....you deserve that hand in marriage....seriously though....i think there are many romantic ways to propose....it doesnt have to be on a knee....its up to the man proposing i guess what he wants to do......anything he feels would be right..if a guy got on his knees in public that would make me uncomfortable......i think proposals should be intimate and private that is more romantic to me........no knees required..deb
