I don't know if it's for an engagement, though; you didn't give us any background on your relationship. If he doesn't get you a ring now, he'll be a jerk, right? Don't get your hopes up too much, just in case. I think it'd have been nicer had he just bought the ring and surprised you with it, then, if need be, get the ring sized afterwards. Of course, his asking you your ring size might be a way that he is assessing if you might say "yes" to his proposal, as he probably doesn't want to be rejected. Good luck! 1

It doesn't matter when he gives the engagement ring. If the engagement is broken, the girl HAS to give the ring back. Otherwise he could sue and the judge would make her give it back or pay for the cost of the ring. Anyhow to the OP: The size and type of ring depends on which finger it's for (unless all your fingers are the same size). So ask him which finger? lol

Good luck! nah he wont be a jerk if he doesnt! whether he proposes or not does not change that I love him. sorry i didnt give background info, only been with each other about a year and a half, its the most serious relationship we have both been in. we're very in love blah blah blah. yes they could certainly all be possibilities, thanx for your opinion x
