So,

 

I was invited to my ex-boyfriend's birthday party. My ex that broke up with me for reasons that are still unknown. My guess? He was scared. Anyway, I am really trying not to read into this, but it is kind of difficult not to. I mean we're on good terms. We see each other and it's almost like old times. I am just kind of curious as to why I was invited. Any thoughts/advice would be awesome

In my experience, if someone doesn't give you a reason as to why they want to end things with you it's just because they are over it, or were never really that into you from the beginning.

 

My guess is that he's hoping you'll be so excited about the invite that you put out.
