kaylan Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 I was simply clicking through random clips of one of my favorite sitcoms, and I happened upon this clip. Its just straight to the point, and a cute moment too. Seeing stuff like that so makes me crave a girlfriend at times. And a chick whos assertive like that and knows what she wants is really helpful. Itd be a whole lot less drama than both people worrying about where things are headed or not headed. And ladies, dont be afraid to do this. For some guys, all they need is that little bit of reassurance that you are really into them. Dont be afraid to ask about becoming exclusive if thats what you want. Same thing for the guys. Youll either get a bf/gf out of it, or youll get the cue that maybe its time to move on. 1
Emilia Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 It's not easy, she is an annoying and neurotic character in that sitcom who is not assertive at all. She is needy. The problem with you Americans - and this is meant in the most affectionate way as I like quite a few people here from the US - is that you think, analyse and talk too much. Just keep that overactive brain from expressing itself all the time and don't be so bloody obsessed with how you feel and you will be fine.
Author kaylan Posted November 15, 2012 Author Posted November 15, 2012 (edited) Actually both her and him are super needy throughout the series. But lets not delve into the entire show. This isnt about the entire show. Its simply about how drama-free and easy that moment was. Its about how she knew what she wanted, and got it. Its also about the guy being on the same page with her as well. Im trying to focus on just that 1 minute clip. Lets pretend they are anonymous people we dont know. With all that being said, I agree with the point you made regarding over-analyzing things. I wouldnt say its an American thing though. I think plenty of men and women do this all over the world. We have UK folk, other Europeans, Aussies, and a couple Canadians on this site, and it seems all of us can over-think at times. Everyone is cautious about getting hurt sometimes. The European, Aussie and Canadian people manage to think about this stuff without it leading to a sort of existential drama with personality disorders, social anxiety and conspiracy theories of females taking over the world though.

You should see PUA forums or MRA websites. Western guys whine online about women in general. So much complaining and talk of going to third world nations to find women because Western women are so evil and feminist lol
