We talked in person that day, and a few days later on facebook, it turns out she goes to my school! At the time, she wouldn't give me her number. It wasn't rejection, it just was one of her silly games she enjoyed playing (hard to get). Around the same time, I became friends with one of the more popular kids at school. He's one of the coolest guys I've met; he seems to be friends with everyone, we'll call him Joe. So "Ana" and I chatted a couple times on facebook that week. I always started our short conversations with something clever, and she always played along. It was fun! Later that week, I saw "Joe" and "Ana" talking on their way to class. I wasn't surprised to see them, since they are both well liked and somewhat popular. I decided to text Joe about Ana, asking him for her number. I had a funny prank call idea lined up. He responded in a light mood saying that hes going for her and to "...keep it on the DL, bro". Yesterday Ana messaged me on facebook. She said she really wanted to hang out ("it's so on...") and passed on her number to me. OH GAWD... Do I betray my newly acquired bro and get with Ms. Highschool Perfect, or continue living my life free of drama?

You'll only realize later on that 95% of the kids you deal with in school will never see you again once you graduate. They don't matter one bit. And kids like the doofus you're describing are usually two-faced phonies, that's often the reason why they get along with mostly everyone on a superficial level, because they're like self-absorbed social chameleons only interested in their own benefit. They show their true douchey colors when you step on their foot and cross paths with them. He'd probably be thinking the same **** you initially considered before doubting yourself.. Just think, he's not in a relationship with her, you're not breaking any moral codes. At his age, he probably doesn't even have "morals".. He just wants to bang something, anything.. If she likes you, he's **** out of luck, doesn't matter what HE wants when she's showing YOU interest. And even if you know nothing much will likely happen between you and her, though I'm not saying anything couldn't.. Screw it all, it's not a big deal in the end, it's worth a shot at least..
