CherryT Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 I'm in a Long Distance relationship and I would NOT even consider doing that. Relationships are built on trust and if you suspect something, you need to talk about it. I understand some parents do GPS tracking on their children if they walk home from school on their own and are left by themselves until 5-6 PM after their parents get off work... but in a committed relationship, I think it oversteps boundaries on trust.

Gps tracking a phone ? Curious.... I know a man who did this, his wife was having an affair and he suspected it so put a gps tracking device inside her car. He found out when she was going to the guy's house and when she lied about being at X place when she really wasn't, he even saw how long she stayed at certain places. My mother did put a spying thing or keylogger thing on my dad's phone because she suspected he was having an affair and was lying about it. It emailed her the texts that he both sent and received from his other woman and it also showed when he made calls to her and received them. It's all a bit much for me. I feel like if I get to that point, I'd already be out he door. But I can also understand how one may know something is off, is being gaslighted and told otherwise, so this is a last resort. I also imagine some people are just severely paranoid and controlling so do this for no good reason... Edited November 15, 2012 by MissBee

Curious.... If you feel you need to do this, break up. Life is too short to turn yourself into the gestapo or a parent. No person is worth this.
