When you break up with someone, shouldnt you really take that as a sign its not gonna work and not try again? Isnt a break up a break up and its final. No matter what you feel, shouldnt you just leave it how it is? Or is it worth trying? Even if you were the one breaking up with the person.

Depends on the emotional maturity of the dumper. I've seen people quit just because of a disagreement who later decide to try to get what they had back.

Personally? You better not break up with me unless you are done.

It was more to do with feelings than a disagreement. "unless you are done" what do you exactly mean by that ?

I'm the kind of guy that will hang on to a relationship and try to work on things with my partner before pulling the trigger. For this reason, I don't do second chances. If I offer the chance to talk and work things out like adults and it's met with a goodbye, then it says a lot about the relationship as a whole.

EDIT: Having said that, you can always plead your case if you want someone back that you dumped. I did take someone back who did this about 9 years ago because she was very convincing.

ok, so if Ive talked about it with a person and we've both come to the conclusion to say goodbye, then I should just leave it? Even if im having small regrets..

That depends. Are you nostalgic? Do you miss being in a relationship with that person or do you just miss being in a relationship? How would you feel if you never got back together and eventually met someone better suited to you?

Take some time out and work through it all in your mind. Find out WHY you regret the choices that were made, and only then can you decide what to do.

I guess I am a bit nostalgic yeah and as we spent so much time together, I guess I just miss the company. Someone better suited sounds nicer ^^

why I feel regret ah okay, I will do that thanks.
