drakewrites Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Had a first date last night after meeting her for the first time a week or two ago through a friend. Everything went really well, we had coffee, dinner, and a movie. There wasn't too much touchy feely stuff during the movie but I'm 23 and she's 22, plus I was really nervous. She did say she was cold, so I gave her my jacket. After the movie in my car she was kind of leaning in my direction in her seat, and I took that as a sign that she was interested. I dropped her off at her house, opened the door for her and everything throughout the night, and when she got out I just stood there for a second and then gave her a quick peck on the cheek. I was really nervous, she's really pretty and amazing, and I felt like a kiss shouldn't be done unless we've held hands already. Is that true? After I pecked her cheek she was smiling a lot and I said "Well I had fun" and she said she did too, I said we should go jogging soon (we both like jogging) and she agreed, and then I left. So what now? Can I text her randomly sometimes and say hello like I have been? We've been texting here and there, does that continue? Should I call her sometime? Should I not text at all and wait for her to text me? I haven't dated in a while so I'm totally clueless. I'm going to try to hold her hand next time we hang out, and maybe a kiss.
veggirl Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 AWWW. Yes you should continue texting / talking as normal. Tell her you had a great time and suggest a 2nd date!! ask for a specific activity on a specific day, not just a "maybe we can hang out this week" or something. I am not sure on the hold hands prior to kissing thing, that seems like just overthinking it. I am not a big hand holder anyway, just go in for the kiss at the end of your next date! whether you have held hands or not

I did what you said and set up a specific time/day, I think that helped because once we were on that second date everything went along smoothly.
