Would my male friend kiss me passionately if he didn't mean it?

My male friend (we have flirted for months and are very close and have always been more than just friends like I am with other male friends) kissed me passionately last night. I stayed over with some other friends, we slept in different rooms and as I went to bed he came in to bring me a glass of water, covered me with the duvet, tucked me in and then kissed me. The kiss was passionate and felt amazing. He had told me an hour or so before that men don't cope very well on their own (he ended his last relationship about 7 months ago) and that he was thinking of finding someone perfect.

 

This morning he wasn't weird with me, we talked, ate breakfast, laughed and then he drove me home. When I got out of the car he kissed me on the cheek as he always usually does.

 

I think I am just wondering if he would have kissed me if he didn't want it to go anywhere. We have been sort of dancing around each other for a while and I have been falling head over heels for him for quite a while now

Betty...If he kissed you passionately, he obviously wants something from you other than friendship.

I think this is a situation where it would be quite acceptable to ask him what it meant.

usually a first kiss is always passionate. Or what can be confused as passionate. He said he was lonely, basically, and didn't cope well alone.

 

Then he kissed you. The only way to know what he wants, or thinks he wants, is to ask him. You're already close so it shouldn't be hard. Good luck.

Ill hopefully see him on Wednesday so I am just going to ask him...a friend told it that it is too late and I should have said something the morning after but I'm hoping she is wrong...
