Ninja'sHusband Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 If true, it's a great example of reverse sexism. It was ok for the woman to cheat, but not the guy. (not that I condone ANY cheating)
road Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 The cynical way of dealing with this is to give her one pretty good job evaluation, a small raise, then find a reason to fire her after a year or so. You've broken the legal nexus between any alleged harrassment and her termination. That, too, happens all the time. If true' date=' it's a great example of reverse sexism. It was ok for the woman to cheat, but not the guy. (not that I condone ANY cheating)[/quote'] No one broke anything. Staying on the edge of the law. An employer is free to give her a raise because it saves them money over paying a lawsuit. A firm is free to not want cheaters working for them. However depending on the situation firing is more then just saying clear out you desk. Again wrongful termination law suits need to be avoided. Nothing to do with sexism. In past the man has the position of authority. So that was the reason the man got fired. But now women that have an affair with a subordinate they are being fired and the man gets the raise. Some companies spell out in writting and have set past precendent where both AP's have been terminated and they do so with current and future work place AP's because they have the legal grounds to not be sued.
road Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 I'd say they both should have gotten fired, or neither should have gotten fired. So they fired the man because he had an affair. Remember he was OW's superior. So they fire the OW for having an affair. Remember OW was the OM's subordinate. OW gets high priced lawyer and claims she was coerced into the affair because OM had the power to promote and demote her, give or deny raises, feared lose of job if she did not put out for OM. So you say better to pay millions in damages and legal fees then give the cheating OW a $50 a week raise. I think that you need rethink through your original statement.
