mike5770 Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 We are all on here because of the misery of lost love and the pain it inflicts. We at least get on here and admit our faults and our failures. I was thinking how rare true lasting love is...look at the divorce rate 50%(USA anyway) I am 40 about 70% of all my buddies whose weddings I went two are now seeing their kids on weekends. There are another big percent who stay in miserable marriages and hate their spouse. I know of maybe 5% of couples who are truly happy and that is just from my observations. Yet we still chase after it because when it works even for a brief time it is the best thing on the planet.

All of our relationships teach us something about ourselves if we choose to take the lessons. Then we're better equipped next time around and so on until we know what to look for and what to avoid in potential partners. Too many people stay in bad relationships - it's so sad! We only get one life, we have to strive for the best and not settle for the comfort zone...it's too easy to be comfortable, even if you're miserable and unfulfilled. Yes, true love is rare, but it's out there, never stop looking until you find it :-)
