And now you know why they are together for so long. They are both selfish and that is a good enough trait for a couple to last.

See! Jerks find jerks!

Proving more that longevity in an LTR is more a function of personality and at some point finding that similarity could build attraction.

pornography ....

changes your sexual programming.

Quite true. Pornography seems to be the leading cause of (growing) impotence in young males.

And it's not just pornography, it's non-porn (or softcore porn, maybe) images.

I've noticed the change in myself. I'm MUCH more tuned in to women's physical attributes than I was when I was 20. I don't mean that I look at their bodies any more than I used to -- simply that I have much more "refined" tastes. Whereas once I would have thought "a third of these girls are really physically attractive, now let's find someone interesting to look at and talk to" -- it's "she has a perfect ass, body, etc. etc. she's in the top 5 or 10 or whatever %."

It's far more limiting, and shallow, than it used to be, and I ascribe it largely to the profusion of images of women with perfect faces, perfect bodies, and also the effect of working out, photoshopping, fashions that show everything off more, etc. etc.

I honestly worry about what kind of experiences my daughter will have in dating/relationships when the average kid is exposed to it at 11.

I really wonder if she'll be treated like a whore or a cast-off depending on what she looks like.

Meh, I used to beat off to BBWs so I still have a broad range of attraction .

Strategic masturbation FTW :D

Some young people somehow manage to avoid it, but I'm afraid most don't.

And you have the strange phenomenon of the most successful young people in the best colleges succumbing to the hookup culture -- Yale of all places seems to be notorious for this -- young women who think that hooking up, and having the freedom to be a slut, precisely to remain single to pursue their careers -- and then finding that the now-30 year old men are either feckless losers or players and feeling oppressed by THAT -- this is what the latest wave of "feminism" seems to be all about.

So you like big women -- in case you haven't noticed -- maybe I shouldn't tell you -- there's a big branch of the online porn industry devoted to your personal taste or fetish or whatever you want to call it -- just as there is for every other.

I think that hook up culture has been made to look cooler than it is and I do think a lot of girls are hurt by that. I don't know how much porn contributes but perhaps the increasing availability of it makes it more prominent.

Either way, I do hold the belief that there are a portion of women who likely would have been hooking up if they had half the chance way back when. Some people are inherently more sexual than others on that particular level.

I like all women :).

Here we go again.

1) Porn is not responsible for impotence.

Diabetes, poor diet, low levels of testosterone(and T drops in men 1% per year after the age of 25), a natural low sex drive and a lack of attraction for the guy's partner. Maybe she got fat. Maybe she became a nag.

2)I've been watching a **** load of porn since the age of 13, and I don't have the best of cardiovascular health, but I have wood everyday and I don't require the visualization of porn to get it up. Just the act of going one day without sexual release causes me to pop random boners as if I was a 15 year old boy.

I don't do physical exercise; I have a rapid metabolism, so I don't get fat at all. I watch a lot of porn. Matter of fact, I always have a browser tab open with some sort of sexual content going on even when I'm reading a book, and I masturbate to porn three times a day. Shouldn't I be immune to random, everyday women? I've been sexually attracted to average(my definition of average might diverge from yours) and I've been sexually attracted to hot women. Unconventional women like this 6 feet tall blonde girl from Holland who looks like a stick, and I've been into this 4'11'' Spanish girl with curves(not fat).

You telling me that perfectly healthy young men in their sexual prime are suffering from erectile dysfunction because of porn? While I am not in perfect health and I can go at it so easily? Huh, is this the political correct way the toilet paper scientists have to use to inform society that the vast majority of women is simply not even average? I know, I know, guys aren't exactly 20 year old Brad Pitts, but I'm not a girl so I don't care.

The vast majority of men use porn and somehow they still manage to have children. ''porn-addiction'' only affects a handful of porn users. Nothing to worry about. Besides, even if many young men are having difficulties in getting it up, think of how many guys are saved from the divorce court, from the family court, and from stds, and alimony ;).

I know many guys in their 60's who regret marrying their wives. Imagine how many men porn could have saved .

There's also one little factor you lot is not taking into consideration. Men have far higher levels of testosterone than women. A 40 year old man is still more horny than a hot-blooded 18 year old woman. If men are staying away from relationships there must be a reason. A good reason at that. The excuse that porn is the culprit for the little relationships going on, and for the malfunction of the already few relationships is like saying chocolate is to blame for a cavity - nah, its just that little johnny is too lazy to brush his teeth.

Look, as a 30 year old man that has been to college in his late teens(and returned to college to get another degree), as a 30 year old man who has met many people from many different Countries and as a man who has met many different cultures, I'm going to tell you from a place of certainty that porn is not the cause for the little love between the sexes.

Truth of the matter is, women are as visual as men and for a little time(age 15 to age 35) they have little control over their hormones, which causes them to hover near the casanovas and Brad Pitts, which in turn leaves the young men stranded with only their hands(and masturbation with only a wall in front of you, even if you use your imagination, is like eating food you hate).

Furthermore, I don't know what you're talking about when you mention average women. My college isn't even one of the most popular colleges and the most average girl is at least cute and thin. But you don't see cute and thin guys hitting on them, and for a good reason. They have no chance. College girls are either in relationships they brought along, are looking to have fun with the guys who are 6 and above, or are interested in creating a career and will only look for relationship in their 30's. By that time most guys are too attached to their freedom to consider marriage to a woman whose fertility is ever on the decline and who has way too many emotional and physical baggage.

One of my subjects at college is called history of england. I have in front of me a group of young kids, the oldest being 22 and the youngest is a 19 year old girl. The group is made of 8 girls and 2 guys. The 8 girls are all hot in their own right, even the girl with no butt and breasts is sexual alluring because she carries herself well and she knows how to dress. The guys are both attractive and tall, but they aren't dating any of the girls, and when I asked if they were attracted to any of the girls they spend all of the day with, they replied with a yes.

''Why aren't you dating the girl, then?''

''I can't compete with the 10 that introduced himself to her yesterday.''

There ya go. Same principle applies to average men and average women. The average women are ''easy'' marks for the above average men, leaving the decent-looking guys left only with porn. Not their fault they come to realize that porn doesn't get pregnant, doesn't cheat on you, doesn't give you herpes nor HPV, and doesn't take your bank account and your future earnings.

^ Like I learned from the men who came before me, so can these young guys use porn as their magical carpet out of a society that cares naught for them.:)

Oh yeah, and push for the male pill. It sucks that men only have celibacy and condoms to prevent 18 years of child-support. One more point in favor of porn.
