jmy33 Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 Alright, so I had a dream about my ex girlfriend. It was a sex dream, which makes it worse for me anyways. It wasn't like I was replaying something that happened before, it was all new. Like that we got back together and everything was good. I know this wont happen, and I could never let it happen. Is this just me dealing with old feelings and still not being over her? Does this happen to anyone else? I usually have a dream about her once a week..and that doesn't help for moving on. If anyone knows what this means and knows how to deal with it, that would be great if you could share. Thanks!
whatheheckhappened Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 jmy33. how long have you been broken up? did she dump you or you dump her? i had a dream about the girl who dumped me on Monday nite. funny thing is .... i was in bed w/ another woman. i think in both our cases...we are not over the person we are dreaming about or there are some unresolved issues as in my case...no closure maybe. just keep goin NC...it's been 5 weeks to the day for me of NC. have not spoke or reached out since she called me an did a 180 degree turn the other way and left me high & dry.

I have been no contact for the last 6 months. The last time I talked to her was when she wished me happy birthday..I guess i still can't shake her..time heals all wounds though.
shayla Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 I had a dream about my ex, actually it was a nightmare.....we have been broken up for 2 years now, he married the other woman right after he dumped me...so why on earth did I dream that I woke up next to him naked and feeling so ashamed of myself. I have a boyfriend now and I was feeling so sick, he asked me what happened and I wanted to throw up because the last thing I wanted was to cheat on him, especially with my ex! He looked at me with tears in his eyes and kept asking me how I could do that to him, and all I could do was cry. It was awful. I woke up from that feeling so horrible. That dream showed me that I am absolutely over my cheating ex and that he is in my past and shall never be in my future, never. Until then, I kept having mixed feelings about whether or not I was over him and the messy way things ended between us. But when I think of the look on my boyfriend's face, I know that what I had with my ex is dead and gone, thank God.
songbird70 Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 Dreams about an ex are normal. I have had them too. They do make it harder to move on because usually they are positive. At least in my case. When someone effects us so profoundly even though we may suppress them in our conscious mind, they are still in our subconscious thoughts. Therefore we dream of them. It does go away after awhile.
