Leigh 87 Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 So, have you all heard the phenomenon where if you stick to your usual diet and over eat one day, every blue moon, that the increased caloric intake actuall increases your metabolism? On top of my average, maintenance allowance, I was in a very flustered about something and felt overwhelmed, so to deal with it I ate 3 large bacon and cheese rolls... They were soft and freshly made, and I love soft and freshly made bread.... ahh, so I am one of those people who has always has a big appetite and loved food. ....I have a history of self harm, that I have since left behind for the most part, but it manifests itself in self sabotage (seeing as I Know it will harm my well being, and I knowingly do some things that will bring me down) I have stopped using food as a means of punishing myself, and normally I eat a very healthy and balanced diet; 80% healthy, 20% what I want, including junk food. AGH. I am not upset over it, that is not how I am feeling; rather, I think :wow, it really is not enjoyable to over eat, what the heck was the point! What a waste of calories!
GLDheart Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 I look at getting fat or lean like an "on/off" switch. It's either in the "on" position and you are packing it away or it is in the "off" position and your body is using the stores and you are getting leaner. One day of pigging out here and there will only save a small amount that will be quickly depleted by the other "lean" days... kinda like money in most of our bank accounts ;-P
FitChick Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 You can overeat one day and eat less the next. As long as your weekly calories average out to the level where you don't gain weight.
