jetset22 Posted November 2, 2012 Posted November 2, 2012 I know there are threads about this already but I believe my situation might be a bit different...To start, I met the girl about 3 years ago. She added me on facebook. We talked a little bit and things were good but things fizzled and we didnt talk for about 6 months. I forgot about her and sure enough she happened to see my brother and told him to tell me he said hi. We started talking and things were great. We were hanging out almost every weekend and then i made the mistake of taking her to a party with me. One of my friends asked her for her number and she said that she would always be with me so he should just text me but she gave it to him. I got really mad and there was a bad argument. I tried for two days to contact her with no response. I waited a month and tried again to no avail. It has now been two months after that (so about 3 months total) and I'm really missing her. Should I just forget about her? How long should I wait for no contact to work? Thanks for any advice.
River Rain Posted November 2, 2012 Posted November 2, 2012 How long should I wait for no contact to work? Do you think going nc is some kind of game to trick her back into being interested in you? If that's the case, then you are mistaken about the real reasons people go nc.

I'm asking how long it usually takes for a girl to forgive a man for a dumb mistake...I don't believe getting back a girl I care deeply for is a game.

It's like hitting a reset button on your relationship if you did something to screw up your chances. If the girl is interested, she will come hack eventually.

mortensorchid Posted November 2, 2012 Posted November 2, 2012 No contact is a strange thing when you think about it. You are trying to make the other person realize how much they do/don't want to be with you by making them pursue you. You are saying to them "Oh fine, you think you will be better/happy without me? Then see what it's like without me in it." And that person might come back if they want to be with you (men and women alike), and sometimes they don't. It sounds like she's not doing no contact for a while, she's doing no contact permanently. It's been 2 months and you haven't heard a word from her? Move on.

Yes, it is like a reset and it does work for some people, but I guess my point is that we go nc to heal ourselves and try to move on from the rejection. Once we feel all that immediate hurt and emotion is in check, then sure, it's possible to reset and get back together. But to go nc for the sole purpose of trying to get someone back...that will probably fail because the nc time is a time to think about why things went wrong, what needs to be changed, and what we really want from the other person. That's just my view on it though
