Reconnecting with Ex from the past

So I recently contacted my ex 8 days ago..We broke up for 3 years (he has new ex GF and a son with her) We were together for 6 years.

He seemed happy to hear from me,mentioned hanging out, we caught up, he would text me all day and send me morning and good night, but suddenly, he is being quiet.

He says to me"I don't mean to be so quiet and distant, I got alot on my mind lately"..He also mentioned "I want to let you know I been trying to find you on social sites but could'nt find you"

 

I'm not sure if he is pushing me away, or He is taking some time to think about what he may be feeling.

 

Any suggestions as to how I should handle this?

 

I have not texted him in 2 days..leaving him alone I guess

Yes, leave him alone. He has a new girlfriend with a son - why would you want to re-hash old memories and get emotionally involved again? He's not a free agent.

to above poster i think she mentioned EX-gf and a son,otherwise agree with january,leave him alone until he finalizes what he wants,and make sure your the priority accept nothing less

You are correct Tiera, he has an ex girlfriend whom he has a 1 1/2 yr old with, We been texting here and there, I feel awkward and told him Im on eggs shells cause I dont want to say something wrong and him think Im a crazy ex or something..He says no need to be on eggshells with him? I hoped we could talk alot more and when he frequently ignores texts even a How are you? I really get confused, but I need this to take him off the pedestal I have him on, He really is a heartless jerk apparently, and I have sent my last text earlier today, can't be having one sided convos with someone who is preoccupied with someone or something else. I give up
