pens1863 Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 Hi everyone Ok so here's my story (and I apologize for my long winded rundown): A few weeks ago, I asked I girl that I am friends with in college to go to a historical museum with me (we are both history majors). She acted like she was interested but she was busy that weekend (her cousin was having a baby shower, which was true) and couldn't go. A week later, she said that in the upcoming weeks she would try to make time on a Sunday to go with me to the museum, but about four weeks have passed and we still haven't gone, even though she periodically brings it up that she still wants to go. She is a big college football fan, so about a week ago I asked her to go with me to this Saturday's game. She smiled and immediately accepted the invitation and said that it would be fun. I bought the tickets and a few days ago I told her I got the tickets in the mail, but she wanted to give me money for her ticket, which kinda upset me. I told her to forget it and that I couldn't remember how much they were. So what does everyone make of this? I really don't want her to give me the money cause I was figuring it was kinda a date, but apparently she had other ideas. Do you think she just wants to be friends, or was she just being nice offering me money. She is real friendly towards me when her and I are alone, but not so much when we are in a group (although she is still nice). I don't know what to make of that either. I've spent studying with her alone in the library on numerous occasions and she seemed to enjoy my company. Thanks for the help!!!
River Rain Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 Personally, even with my bf, when he offers to pay for something or wants to buy me something, it's automatic for me to say "no, I'll pay my share"...it's just because I'm super independent when it comes to my finances. I think it was nice of her to offer to pay for her ticket. I wouldn't read so much into that until you actually get together and see how you hit it off at the game.

raea Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 Been with my boyfriend for just under a year. Still offer to pay my share, or to pay for the entire date when I can swing it, every time we go out. Sometimes, now that we've been together this long, he even lets me occasionally
