talking to a shy girl

So,there's a girl that i met in the beginning of the school year.the first time i saw her I thought she was super cute ,so I told myself that i was going to make her my girlfriend.(its been a few month now)and two weeks ago she was giving super strong hints that she liked me,so i asked her to homecoming,she said yes and now everyday i try to talk to her & get her to open up,(in real life)we sometime have a good chat but a lot of the times she give me nothing to work with but the simplest answers.so to talk more,I asked her to lunch and she said yes,the prob is that she hasn't opened up,and I really don't want it to be awkward,anyone have any suggestions
