Are 20s-30s girls in UK more confident than others? (esp those described in PUA books

Hi

I've read a lot of PUA books lately and they are all about girls want to be approached. They make out that girls are almost like shrinking violets.

That really isn't the image I have for girls in the UK in their 20's and 30's. They seem far more confident, far more independent and far more interested in their social life and peers etc.

Some of the ideas/approaches/mind sets suggested just seem like they would be laughed out of the park by girls in the UK.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

PUA books, like all the other kinds of self-help books, are written because it's an easy way to make money off desperate people.

Don't take them too seriously.

Are you based in the UK? If not, how many girls in their 20s and 30s in the UK have you met? From which bit of the UK?

There's a general view that British-based women are pretty straightforward and gain independence early. But in parts of the UK, like London and other major cities, it's very multi-cultural, so generalisations about values and behaviour don't fit very well.

What is the drinking age in the UK - 18 years old?

If more girls are getting drunk at 18 and going to bars, then they have more experience with men and are more mature, and take charge.

Part of the Reason Americans are more conservative and Puritan is because we live so far apart, are isolated and have to drive everywhere, so less alcoholic drinking until 21.

Women become more inhibited, less experienced in socializing.

I don't know about that. The legal drinking age is 18 in Canada, and I don't see much of a difference between our dating lives and those of Americans. Going to bars at 18 doesn't make you mature, if anything you do even more stupid s***.

But Canada has a lot more wide open spaces of social isolation.

In UK and Europe, there are more urban areas, where women interact more with men.

To an extent this is true. You will buck up with quite a few women who are more like ladettes than ladies . This isn't such a bad thing, you just have to modify your approach. Banter and flirting is key really, not the routines and the constant approaching. Sometimes they will actually have the balls to approach you if they like you .

You have to adapt the ideas you are reading about rather than copy them. It is like Jeet Kune Do, Bruce Lee's martial art. Take what you need, discard what you don't, and experiment till you find your approach that works for you ;).

If based in UK, I recommend learning more physical stuff, like improved body language, touching, movement, and LOTS of teasing. The girls I meet tend to like teasing, and they can dish it out too :p.

Canada has a lot of wide spaces, but a lot of uninhabited space as well. We nearly all live near the American border.

Here's a map with population density:
