i don't mind them. I don't really have a physical type however. I'm sure it just depends on the woman, the man, and the chemistry.

Stop acting like your the spokesperson for all or most women..Tons of women i know actually prefer a guy with a little meat there then a six pack..they want to feel like the women in the relationship and dont want a guy who can fit in their jeans

Tons? Riiiiight

Most women Ive ever met think a six pack is sexy. The only ones who prefer meat over it are meaty girls themselves.

And are you insane? A six pack shows a guy has a lack of fat, which IS MASCULINE. Women are supposed to have more fat percentage than men. So a guy having less than her should make her feel feminine.

And guys can be big and manly without being chubby. They are supposed to anyways. Have you seen the size of a guys lower body who actually works out his legs? Fit guys cant easily squeeze into womens jeans because of the male shape and muscle too. Get a clue dude.

It's not just possible, it's true, since it's been expressed by quite a number of female members over the years on LS.
Ten bucks says they arent fit themselves, and twenty bucks says they wouldnt turn down a fit guy and would def be turned on by him.

This is your belief and your attraction element. But there are women who actually prefer men with a little paunch, same as some men prefer women with a little pooch.

In my experience, those who desire a mate with pooch, have a pooch themselves and are usually intimidated by someone whos very fit. Just my experience with women...even though it doesnt change the fact that theyll still be very attracted to a fit body.

I prefer no beer belly, but no six-pack either; just a trim, moderately fit and healthy male body.

He could do with a little bit more muscle tone in his arms (it could just be the way he's standing; poor posture and not flexing his muscles at all), but this is a good example of my preferred "torso" style, I guess.

I always find it funny when people who work out take it so personally and cant fathom when a person says the yarent inot super fit people:lmao:

ALso weird who men who work out a ton judge mens bodies more then women do.Lot of homsesxual tendencies with those dudes not that there is anyhting wrong with that

My mom was saying she thinks it looks manly for a guy to have a little bit of a gut. I don't. I'm not saying I need a six pack either...just prefer a slim stomach.

That has to depend on how thin the woman is. I've never been attracted to a man as thin as me.

A small pot belly is cute, and even sexy on the right guy.

You know, you're right. I really don't care for pot bellies, but my husband has lost some weight and it's kind of cute. Before hand I didn't think so, because it really seemed to stick out. But now that it's more subtle, it is kind of cute. LOL

I really think there are actually two different questions being discussed here:

(1) Are you physically attracted to someone who is in good physical shape?

(2) Are you physically attracted to someone who has a thinner or thicker body-type?

You can be a thick guy who is in great physical shape, a thick guy who let himself go somewhat and who has a pot-belly, a thin guy in great physical shape, or a thin guy who has a pot belly.

Plenty of women prefer a thick guy who has a bit of a pot-belly over a thin guy in great shape. No matter what your build is though--thick or thin--I can't imagine how being in shape could make you less attractive. As long as you don't go too extreme and look like a professional body-builder, or lose too much weight in the process, that is. The thick guy with the bit of a pot-belly probably would be physically attractive to even more women if he hit the gym and toned himself up somewhat--"turned his fat into muscle", and became a thick guy in great shape.

No ones taking it personally. We are just calling a spade a spade. The type of women who say they arent into fitness, are the same type of women who will sleep with me, call me sexy, but then be too intimidated to date me since Im fitter than her. They just mask it with the statement "I dont want a guy to spend all his time in the gym"

Its nothing new that some women want to be the better looking person in the couple. Ive casually dated girls like this, and have had to deal with silly comments or backhanded compliments that made it obvious that my fitness routine made her insecure.

Nice ignorantly homophobic statement.

Since when is it homosexual to have a grasp of what is or isnt a fit body? Since when is it homosexual to give an opinion on the male body? Are guys not supposed to do this just because they are men? Grow up, the whole "I cant judge a guys attractiveness because its gay" idea got lost in the 90s brah.

Yes, that's me. I'd prefer thick with a bit of a belly over thin and very fit.

Abs or no abs is a wash for me, as long as he's somewhat fit (the 5 months preggo look is never good on a man). I get the tinglies from both :)

Theyres a difference "brah" between noticing if a dude is a mess or a physical specimen and a poster on here when the op asked women for their opinion on the attraction level of guys a dude judged each body part and muscle or lack of on the guys body and gave him a number between 1 and 10:sick:

Maybe you dudes born in the late 80's and 90's are into that, god knows with your tight jeans and awful taste in music that generation confuses me:laugh:

I dated a guy who had a six pack when we first met, then over the years gained a bulge on his belly. It reminded me of a pregnant lady. I was completely grossed out.

Granted...I also fell out of love with his whole personality & everything about him, so I can't say for sure but...If I did still love him, maybe it would not have bothered me quite as much?

Nowadays, I specifically look for a man with no pot belly.I am not thin & not fat (5'7" 135 lbs) but I like a man to be either slimmer than me, or not much bigger than me overall.

But like the other thread someone else posted said "Beauty is subjective"

Edit* Almost forgot to mention to you O'Farrell-

I am getting the feeling that what you're calling a "pot belly" is actually just a teeny tiny bit of flab? Like a pinch of skin? From your description it doesn't sound like a "pot belly" & I bet you're being too hard on yourself.A teeny bit of flab is fine.Just be confident in yourself & keep healthy.

And guys cannot offer their opinion why? I am a fit guy and women date men, hence I know what plenty of womens opinions are regarding my body. No one here is judging someone 1 out of 10, so get a grip.

Im sorry we cant be as homophobic and musically close minded as you older folks.

Btw, fitted jeans have gone in and out of style a couple times since before you were born as well. But haters gonna hate.

Not for nothing, but this old dude still fills out a pair of 32" inch waist Wranglers just fine. And yes I'm bragging, because at 50 that sh*t takes work.

No, sorry, nothing cute about it - I find a pot belly very unattractive because it means a guy isn't taking good care of himself.

My preference is for men with low body fat and a flat stomach. I LOVE 'sex lines' - they just make me swoon  - a six pack is good but not as hot as 'sex lines'.

My guy is a super fit athlete so I have no complaints! ;) (Oh, and he's 47!)

This is funny, I always thought all women wanted a guy with a six pack. Why do I work out 5-6 days a week then?! Haha

Let me predict the next threads. Do women find chicken legs, hot dog arms or teeny weenies attractive? No , the vast majority of women are designed to find a masculine looking guy attractive. And that means broader shoulders, lower body fat percentage etc and yes, a bigger penis is more attractive than a small one ( in for a woman coming and saying she loves her husbands cute little dick!). BUT (there is always a but...) when we fall in love with a person, we might overlook their imperfections or even find them adorable and attractive.

Not necessarily true at all.

We all store fat differently. I have a small pot belly, or flab, w/e and I regularly work out and take good care of myself. My peers don't think I need to lose weight, but realistically speaking, if I lose any more than 5kg in weight then I'll become clinically underweight. Gaining muscle isn't easy on my frame as I naturally have a muscular build.

I agree, not everyone has a flat stomach...even if they are working out and eating right. I think there's a difference between a man looking 5 months pregnant and not having a firm stomach.

But why is a a guy with lower bf percentage who will be weaker and smaller 99% of the time be considered more masculine than a guy with a pot belly?

Can you answer this question?

Dude you are missing the mark. We arent talking only about overall build here. Body fat and overall shape matter too. And body fat has a large impact on how ones body looks. And body fat on men isnt masculine. It takes away from a guys masculine shape regardless if he has a large or small build.

A guy with a larger build but a beer belly (6'2 240) may possibly be stronger and bigger than a smaller guy with a slim build and muscle (5'10 185). But the slim guy with muscle and little body fat will be the guy most women are naturally attracted to and seen as inherently masculine.

Same goes for women. Sure a smaller and weaker Megan Fox may be considered most feminine to some men due to her small size (however she is thin and with not much curve to her)...but compared to the hourglass Christina Hendricks...Fox is def not the most feminine...despite Christinas taller height and larger frame.

The point is that certain attributes are inherently more masculine and feminine. Little body fat, more muscle and a V shape torso is more masculine. Less muscle, more body fat, and more curves in more feminine.

Muscle weighs more than fat.

Smaller doesn't mean anything if he is quicker and more talented.
