We have talked about people who aren't serious about meeting someone face to face, some might say, "Well, it's probably because they're married or living with someone, and looking for something on the side"

Or they are sick of the mundane married life, and they log on while their spouse snores away.

But, I was wondering this.....I think a LOT of people (esp new faces), sign up for dating sites in HASTE.

And it's not the married ones, but people who get into an argument with a boyfriend or g/f, domestic dispute, etc

...and "in the moment" react emotionally, and jump as quickly as possible on a dating site...and throw up a personal ad.

Then, the boyfriend /girlfriend kisses and makes up...and you never see them again after corresponding with them.

Some remove their profiles.

Anyone can concur? I can, because I knew of a co-worker that as soon as she broke up with her boyfriend, she was at work on her lunchbreak, putting up an online dating profile. LOL

Then, a week late,r she was back with the b/f again.

Yes, I have heard of this. I think (but it's speculation) that this isn't the main cause of quickly-removed profiles, though. I suspect that more of them are put up and removed 'in disgust' at the sort of messages they get from idiot guys who don't know how to talk like a human, and that a lot of them are removed when they realise that the site is full of 'ordinary' people who aren't supermodels.

I've definitely seen it happen. First-hand too, sadly, many times. Wish he'd stuck at it, I might have got shot of him sooner.

I concur. IME most people online dating aren't serious about it at all. I.e. I'm on a TG oriented site. Most of the messages I get are from people 200 miles away or more. Someone serious about dating would not do that.
