Intricity Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 I was just wondering what the difference between dating someone and seeing someone is. I was recently talking about this girl I'm interested in and the person I was talking to had asked if whether I was dating her or seeing her and I was a little caught off guard by that as I've always thought they meant the same thing.
Ami1uwant Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 There is no difference. Some may make the distinction if their dates consist of hanging out but not actually going on dates like dinner and movie.
Jane2011 Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 I suppose some people distinguish between the two, but I'd use them interchangeably. (Well, 'seeing' someone sounds slightly less serious than 'dating' someone, but it's a negligible difference, at best, such that I'd still use them interchangeably.)
HeldbyGravity Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 "dating" "seeing someone" I see those two as the same thing. "going out" "in a relationship" "boyfriend/girlfriend" And I see these three things as the same thing. Different ways to say the same idea- either dating non-exclusively or dating exclusively.
