I went to the store today and a guy who works at the store just randomly came up to me and told me I am so beautiful. We chatted a little and then I left. I was surprised because guys barely hit on me and I have never had a boyfriend, been asked out, or been on a date. I didn't even put on makeup when I went to the store and I was really astonished because it was so unexpected. Does this mean he likes me?

Aww. By the time you're in your 20s, you'll be sick of randoms calling you beautiful and/or hitting on you

its a no or a yes(maybe he did)......it means he thought you were pretty and meant it as a compliment.....when i lose weight the compliments start....i thank people for them but don't take stock of them i would rather have someone smile because i said something funny and not compliment me just making someone smile can be special to me......that to me is an ultimate compliment.......you will get guys who hit on you....thank them ......feel good about yourself....guys will let you know when they like you......you will have a boyfriend one day who loves being around you just because you make him smile.....hugs to ya....deb

There are no guarantees unless he's asks you out. He may just have fancied having some banter and you were in the right place at the right time. Just take it as short pleasant interlude and go about your day.

What's your background.

Most of the time when it's not a guy calling me beautiful in the hitting on me kind of way.. I also get people even ladies calling me so beautiful and their very curious about my background, just being nice. I've even had a 80 something year old randomly call me beautiful and wanted to know my background.

Was this guy older or around your age?

If he's around your age it's more then likely he was interested in you.

Totally meaningless. Happens to me a couple times a month and does not lead to more dates. ;)

Don't over-analyze it, just take the compliment to heart and enjoy it. It happened, it was good, and it sounds like the guy was a stranger who just happens to appreciate a lovely girl out in public.

What do you mean by "does he like me?". He can't like or dislike you because he does not know you. He just said that you are beautiful. It happens a lot to women, but it rarely leads to anything.

lol, ironic as it is, it could easily end up the case.

OP - today was a good day for you then. For girls who get guys sucking up to them all the time, it would just be another random hit on, but for you its not the case. Take it as a complement and genuine (though you may have been the fifth girl he said that to that day, who knows). If the guy is within your age band and is okay looking for you, then he could be your first bf, if you spend more time back at the store. If you welcome more attention from him, then don't clam up on him if he talks to you again, and smile and make eye contact.
