KansasChica Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 So... I keep hearing from mutual friends that my ex's best friend continuously talked crap about me during and after we dated. Before we started dating, my ex and his best friend (who lived together) would play video games and hang out. Then, when we started dating, I joined them. I didn't think there was any problems- everyone seemed to be happy. My ex did spend a lot of time with me and I think that made his best friend jealous. All of these hurtful things that I'm hearing about his best friend saying is news to me- how he hated when I was over there and how selfish I was. When my ex broke up with me, he said things that I never would have thought he would ever say. When I tried to reach out to him after the breakup, he accused me of bad-mouthing him (which never happened) and it makes me wonder how many lies his best friend told him. He's known his best friend a lot longer than he knew me; but, it's so frustrating that he would believe him over me. Now, when I see my ex out, he can barely look at me. I did nothing wrong after the breakup! I didn't even beg! I just gave him space. Has this happened to anyone else?
