andymb79 Posted October 14, 2012 Posted October 14, 2012 My friend introduced me to someone about 3 months ago. Since then we have hung out as a group several times. Each time, she and I flirt back and forth and she seems into me. Anyway, last night I hosted a party and she came. We had a few drinks and wandered away from everyone else and talked. Things went great. I told her I would like to take her out to dinner and she said yes. It was a really good night. Im planning on calling her tomorrow to ask her to dinner. My problem is I my previous relationship of four years ended a few months ago. This would be my first first date in over 4 years and I'm very nervous. I've never been a very confident guy and I don't want to look like an idiot. I don't even know what to say when I ask her out. Any advise. Thanks
HeldbyGravity Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 Woo!!! Alright, "stay calm" is sucky advice... let's try Focus on the moment. Don't worry about the call all day. Stay distracted. Do what you know will chill you out, like exercise earlier in the day, groove out to some music. Then breath and just do it. When she says yes (stay positive!)... alright first you want to know what to say? Keep it simple. Say what comes to mind, don't overthink it. "Do you want to go out to dinner with me on ____ night?" works. Anyway, don't pay any heed to the 4 years thing. You like her, right? And she likes you. So just be yourself, be on your best behavior and have fun with it!
Necromancer Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 Be ready if she flakes. (I have always found the harder part to call back than to ask for the date in person.... something seksy about it.) 1
Author andymb79 Posted October 15, 2012 Author Posted October 15, 2012 Thanks for replies everyone....I feel pretty confident she will say yes. When I asked her the other night, she acted excited and asked where we would go. I left some things out about the night. While we were alone, she kept holding my hand and we kissed a bit. We cuddled for about 30 minutes. Her friend left and she stayed for 2 more hours. Before she left we exchanged numbers and she texted me to let me know she made it home and to say good night. Im going to go for it and I'm pretty excited. 1
