I look back, and regret not picking the other. But i guess its just cause i'm rejected and in a hole. If my ex never left me i wouldn't feel the regret. So is it real regret do i really realize i made a mistake?

If you didn't regret not picking the other guy at the time, then the only reason you're regretting it now is because you've been rejected. Breakups really mess with our emotions and logic. Just work on yourself and keep yourself distracted and healthy. If you went back to this other guy now it would totally be a rebound and out of desperation not to feel lonely, wouldn't it? That doesn't mean in the future, when you're over the break up, that you can't pursue the other guy. 1
