Now on facebook I wants to change my relationship status to single without anyone knowing, including her friends....so I set the drop down box to "Only me". So my question is whether my ex-girlfriend's friends will still be able see the relationship status change on their walls when I update my status even though my ex's status is set visible to her friends?

It was me, in a fit of anger, about 3 weeks later, who changed it but I later regretted not telling him first because I was very, very hurt when he unfriended me without telling me - despite supposedly wanting us to be friends in real life, and I was still seeing him intermittently, going out for dinner and him coming to my house - in fact I was so upset that I deactivated my account for months. Could you not tell her first? She will find out, as her status will automatically change and she will also get a notification. When I changed mine, it said it would contact him for confirmation.

Sounds like we're both in that same burning pain Actually she was requesting for me to change...and she's eager too Now the issue is she and I don't want status to be publicized on her friends' walls and I don't wish to contact and request her to set her privacy to "me only" I'm wondering if I set my status visible to myself (when she's still set at "Friends Only") and change the status to single, would the update be reflected on her friends' wall?

Million.to.1 Posted October 14, 2012 Posted October 14, 2012 i think that the "relationship" is just removed. she would have to change her status to "single" before it showed up in friends news feeds. because you can still be "in a relationship" on Facebook, but not have a specified partner. you can change it and she will get a notification but her friends won't see anything till she updates hers. Are you guys still friends on FB?

Load of crap I'm a private person, I've never had either on mine, it's no one's business unless I choose to tell people! Just hate FB at the mo, it's a landmine. 2
