Plus in my experience cuddling, holding hands, etc doesn't even feel that nice if you don't actually have some sincere affection for the person. Just makes me want to find someone I do feel that way about. Maybe simply sleeping next to/spooning someone - I suppose I could see that being appealing. A no strings attached bed-sharing buddy. But once daytime rolls around again... Basically... I'd say that being "casually intimate" with someone you don't like enough to want a relationship/sex with wouldn't be enjoyable to the point of even warranting doing it. And if you actually were enjoying the casual intimacy, that'd be the moment you started developing feelings for the person. At least that's how I'd imagine it going...
