The thread was started by a heterosexual man. So of course a man is referring to certain women as airheads. It doesn't say anywhere that the thread is only about women, though.

The funny thing is the commercial is a male with less than admirable intellect.

I think we all have priorities and it can make you overlook other characteristics if there are those you really like. For me, a good sense of humor would make me overlook less than stellar looks; a very kind and giving nature would overlook being less intelligent (though not stupid)

I think it's mean to call some women "airheads". I understand that not everyone is the same level of intelligence but to condesend about their intelligence while you date them says something pretty bad about you, not them.
Please refrain from using the internet from now on. EVERYTHING offends you. Jesus Christ. You always look to gripe about something and I can only imagine how insufferably uptight you are in real life. It aint that serious sweetheart.

If someone is an airhead, Im going to call them that. Some chicks are simply ditzy, not bright, and lack any sort of intellectualism. People make all sort of positive and negative assessments about people while they date them. I really dont care what you think it says about me. In reality it says to me that I am an analytical guy who values smart women.

It reminds me of that movie The Help. The one woman in it was rejected by the Queen Bee because she thought she took her boyfriend away from her while they were still dating. The woman is now married to the Queen Bee's ex and she is very sweet and bubbly. The other women look down on her because of the Queen Bee. But she is actually smart in other ways from them and is actually kind to her African American maid. I will take kindness and sweetness in a female friend over high end intelligence.

 Life isnt a movie. And since when is kindness, sweetness, and intelligence something that cannot be had all in one person. Many people have all those traits. I do as well. My pointing out that a girl isnt as smart as other girls I know, doesnt mean Im going to treat her badly. Im not going to tell her I think shes not as smart as other chicks. I will tell my friends that when she comes up in conversation about if Ill continue dating her.

OH and what was that thread about how women are harsher on other women. Yet another thread where men are calling women names. No offense Kaylan but calling certain women "airheads" isn't any better then calling them other names.

Wow dude...IM A GUY, so obviously I DATE WOMEN. So OBVIOUSLY my anecdotes about those I date, will be anecdotes about women.

Do I REALLY have to preface every damn thing I say about women by saying "there are guys like this too"? Come on now. Its obvious to anyone with a modicum of common sense that airhead is not a gender specific term. And itd be obvious to them, based on the video I presented and the question I asked, that obviously the guy in the video (and other men out there) can be airheads.

Seriously, you are bitching about a woman being called an airhead, when the GUY in the video is an airhead himself, but handsome, thus inspiring this thread. How in the world did you miss this?

Learn to pick your battles. Its like you just wait to be offended by things sometimes.

I think that women are more likely to be called an "airhead" or "dumb" than men are. I don't think it's fair to say that only men do it though, because they don't. I hear plenty of women calling other women those names, at work and at school. I also seldom hear women calling men "dumb". Pretty women or women that are fashionable are called out really quickly if they do something flaky or say something stupid. I don't know why that is. Men normally get the benefit of the doubt in the same scenario. It's not right, but it's also not fair to blame only men.

I hear guys called dumb all the time. And the dumb but good looking guy archetype is common in pop culture....hence Joey from the tv show Friends.

I know Im guilty of letting a girl or two get away with being an airhead, or being vapid, all because I was majorly attracted to her.

yeah, typical for men

Why don't you date girls, then?

Hehe yeah I know this feeling... I was once very much attracted to a guy who presented himself a simpleton with a minimum wage, dumb mumblings and immature poopoo jokes. Never seen a college or university from the inside. But gosh, his SMILE! His smile made me ache for him. And the muscular body, the wiry black hair, the lashes.. And the soft skin, the mischief in his eyes, the way his fingers and lips poked out from underneath the blanket when he slept, and his posture... And the way he looked in a uniform, god my blood pressure... Ah...
