Avulare Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 Yeah, I don't understand what the OP is so grossed out about. Pretty much the only time I worry about what I'm ordering to eat is when I'm with someone who's vegetarian or vegan and they want to pay for my meal (this happens surprisingly frequently). In that case I'll always order something vegetarian/vegan, because I don't want them to spend their money on something they don't agree with, even though they're buying it for me. Of course, most of the time, the friend insists that I order whatever I want, even if it has meat. There's been a few times where I've ordered something non-vegetarian with the expectation that I was going to pay for my own meal (and usually the friend's meal too), but then when the bill comes the friend (usually a guy in these cases) insists on paying for everything, and then I feel crappy.
Almond_Joy Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 My 1st date was a pothead who was a little chunky because she regularly had the munchies, and I guess gouging on parsley isn't so bad... but date #3 (the one who looked like a fat teenage boy, and acted twice as salty) grossed me out by eating some horrible-looking sushi thing in front of me at a mall, and date #4 (the one who looked like a fat Cher with too much makeup) tried to get me to drink some "frankenbeverage" she made out of lemon juice and---oh, I don't know what all, she crushed up mint leaves, thyme leaves, and all sorts of other weird herbs from her window garden, and mixed these into the lemon juice and expected me to drink it. I've learned that "gooooood!!!" is really a kind of code word... if a woman tells you a drink tastes "gooooood!!!" then you know it's gonna taste like paint stripper, and if she tells you some kind of food tastes "gooooood!!!" then you know it's gonna taste like dog crap. Especially if she has kids. So, if you ever nab a woman who fancies herself a foodie, you either better hope you've smoked enough grass to give you the munchies for a week, or have a few flavor-deadening drinks before your date, because the woman's not born yet who enjoys the same foods and beverages we men do. ...Personal food on date 4 seems a bit premature to me. Unless it's like a romantic home dinner for two - in which case she'd probably check what you're into before making the meal. That lemon juice thing sounds disgusting - no way in hell I'da touched that loll.
LittlePrince Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 The lemon juice concoction seems very suspicious. I would pass on it too especially in California where you don't know what she is growing. 1
january2011 Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 I don't think this has anything to do with gender diffrences and culinary tastes. That part of the OP is misleading and sounds like it's an excuse to rant about women and men being different. It sounds like the OP just doesn't make the same food choices as his dates and he's less open-minded about trying anything new that he deems unconventional. I don't think there is anything particularly wrong with that. Though if I were dating the OP, there'd be huge incompatibility. OP, you don't get on with what your dates choose to eat, so chalk it up to individual incompability and move on. Why make it a rant about women? Particularly because not all men like the same food and not all women like the same food. And there are also the LTR heterosexual couples who have pretty much the same diet while they are together, some for the rest of their lives.
todreaminblue Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 Lesson learned. Don't trust chefs. i thought it was never trust a skinny chef 1
GorillaTheater Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 being a dick is only cool if you're funny. I'm considering making that my signature. 2
xdahliax Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 You guys are making me cry. Sorry, Brujo. I think they should just make a button that says "Like Hawaii50", it would save me a lot of clicks.
yongyong Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 It's cute to watch a girl munching on a burger. Of course, she has to be thin. Whatever she eats, it would be disgusting to watch if she is fat. It's about Who eats, not What she eats.
Author El Brujo Posted October 10, 2012 Author Posted October 10, 2012 It's cute to watch a girl munching on a burger. FYI "munch" has long been a code word for oral sex... even an ignoramus like me knows that. It's about Who eats, not What she eats. Like Sweeny Todd sang to Ms. Lovett... "The history of the world my sweet, Is who gets eaten, and who gets to eat!"
