For maybe the last year or so, I would be singing along to some songs for a little while, and I'd get an aching pain in my jaw soon after.. As a singer, I figured maybe I was just overdoing it all of the time, but I wasn't really pushing things..

Also, simply laying on a couch, or in most sitting positions would cause the back of my neck and my head/jaw to ache VERY quickly.. And that feeling would persist for awhile.

Now, for the last week or so, from the MOMENT I wake up to the moment I finally close my eyes after tossing and turning in bed, my jaw/chin region is constantly aching, as if the muscles are contracting and getting all tense. This is literally getting to the point of being unbearable...

Now, my teeth are aligned very well, but one tooth in the front is behind all of the others in the front row, and I think I have an overbite.. My upper row covers about 50% of my bottom row.

From the side, my profile looks like both the individuals in the "before" photos with either an overbite, or an underdeveloped/misaligned lower jaw. Those around me think I look "fine", but the pain, and what I personally see, seems to clash with their non-medical "opinions"..

I've been popping a pain killer every 8 hours for the past couple of days, it's the only way I've been able to comfortably LIVE without the constant pain.. As I type now, the pain/tension is back, and I probably need to take another pill..

And today was a holiday, so I have to wait until tomorrow to even make an APPOINTMENT with this new dentist my mother was referred to from a friend.. So if I'm lucky, maybe I can make an appointment for tomorrow afternoon or the next day.

I'd read that orthodontic work is likely to be done beforehand, so.. If they need to make sure my pearly whites are PERFECT before doing the orthognathic alignment surgery, will there be anything that could possibly be done to relieve the pain in the mean time so that I don't commit suicide beforehand?

I'm already contemplating just ending my life, especially if I'd have to wait months or even a year for my teeth to be straightened before the surgery can be done.. I'm getting ahead of myself here, but I'm really hoping something can simply be done.

Does it sound like something that will definitely require surgery? I doubt I'd have constant pain throughout the day from grinding in my sleep.. My teeth aren't really worn down like that.
