I've found that something happens to the male brain when a woman is naked and they are about to have sex her. Suddenly, the woman looks perfect.

Blood supply diverted. Ability for critical thinking diminished. ;)

My take on that is different. My last ex was very similar in experience to yours I think but it was more about his relating to women than the lack of experience. He was just plain weird in bed.

I dated much younger guys who weren't that experienced but who had a healthy attitude to the naked body and no hang-ups. It's the reason for the inexperience that matters, not the actual lack of experience I think.

Yes this is a very good point. I often wondered why would a 31, reasonably good looking man who is intelligent, very outgoing, large social circle had only one sexual experience before me. Many girls have come on to him before me that he has friendzoned (he showed me their e-mails confessing feelings etc..). He always found the weirdest faults with them like "her fingers are too long" "her freckles turn me off" WTF

He also seemed disgusted by normal bodily functions. We lived together and he once saw some period blood and wouldn't touch me for 2 weeks because he was so turned off. He also claimed that if I have even a bit of stumble on my legs (he asked that I shave them every day) - he won't be able to maintain an erection. He was also very awkward in bed - the worst I have ever been with.

He blamed it all on porn and inexperience (when I confronted him about bodily functions stuff)...

 This explains my ex.

My ex was super critical; I used to want to strangle him. He would criticize everything I did, from my word choices to how I was chopping vegetables, but he would say during sex that he couldn't find anything wrong with my body. And he was trying to find something wrong.

A few thoughts for you to consider:

(1) No one keeps their "fantasy" body forever. Did it ever occur to you that these amazing-looking girls whom you think life is so perfect for, are insecure that a guy just likes them for their looks, and that when the looks fade, he'll be gone?

(2) Take a look around. There are plenty of average-looking girls who have rings on their finger. Their husbands stopped being blinded by "fantasy" long enough to marry these girls.

(3) The women who seem to have into them the most guys are very often the ones who are the most fun. They have cellulite on their legs and a roll of belly fat but guys don't care.

(4) If you make a point to keep working out and leading a healthful lifestyle away from the gym, you'll keep looking better and better relative to the girls your age who "let themselves go" (too many do sadly).

I've been lucky to not get involved with men who watch porn on a regular basis, if ever (my ex had zero interest in it), but I've found that something happens to the male brain when a woman is naked and they are about to have sex her. Suddenly, the woman looks perfect. Men, in my experience, judge our bodies much less harshly than we do.

 So true. Takes the pressure off and lets you focus on the sex

Do you think that if those "fantasy" girls actually wanted these men that they'd be with their current "average" wife? Don't you think it's possible that they settled more then they stopped being "blinded"?

My ex wasn't this particular, he was just raised in a way that didn't allow him to socialise with women much but he was still a bit weird. I suppose he did in his late 20s what boys usually do when they are 17.

Finickity and picky men are a turn off though, can't imagine how that kind of neurosis would lead to good sex.
