Found this article today:

Real Women - AskMen

I'd be very interested to hear from younger guys (ones with access to decent Internet in their early years) how disappointed (if at all) you were when you realized real, actual women didn't look like the naked women on the Internet.

Last time I checked the women in porn are real. Just because some women don't look like them - don't make them fake.

Never been disappointed :D

I actually strongly prefer both real breats(#1) and 'some' curves(#2)...so nope if you are talking about the "typical" porn girls.

Also, as SmileFace stated, they are real. They were someone's next door neighbor growing up at some point.

Kaaaaay, let me be more specific.... Were you disappointed to find out that only 1 in 5000 women look like them naked? (Better?)

Honestly, when I first saw the first girl I hooked up with butt-ass naked, I didn't really make the comparison between her and any porn and/or swimsuit models I had seen. I was too busy, you know, enjoying the fact that she was touching my weiner.

Then again, by the time I was in high school, "amateur" porn was already pretty widespread, so it's not like I had only been exposed to one stereotypical body type.

1 in 5000? Pleeaaaase. I can to go to any club and pick out at least 50 women who look as good, if not better, than many porn stars.

What are you trying to say? Actual woman (like you) doesn't look good naked? There are plenty of women looking good naked. (ones who's not lazy)

Are you trying to say they use too much photoshop to make women look good so guys develop unrealistic view about women's body?

Do they use photoshop only in magazines like maxim?

What about women's magazine and advertising for women?

Guess what if they use average women (with chubby arms, thighs, abs and average face) and no photoshop? would you buy their product? LOL

I laugh at stupid comment like 'they use women as an object' as I explained

Well I was mostly trying to get an opinion on the article, ya know, the one I linked, in which he stated that he (and other guys he'd talked to) had felt some flush of disappointment that most girls look, ya know, good-but-average, not fantastic-genes-for-boners amazing, and wondering if that has increased in the Internet age.

I don't think you're giving the the other 4,999 enough credit, meany. I've always been lucky enough to be with rather attractive women. Surely porn worthy, but I don't think that's saying very much.

Okey dokey, new thread plan.... how bout people read the article, and actually comment on THAT.

I should also add that I don't think the author of this article is particularly bright. I also do not believe his experiences were typical. He actually had to see a woman naked to realize that not all women have gigantic breasts? There's a whole lot he's saying here that really doesn't add up or is simply being exaggerated for comic effect. I think it's the latter, as AskMen is essentially Maxim in purely online form.

Really, the only times I've been really disappointed and/or grossed out with the way a woman looks like naked was when I drunkenly fooled around with girls in college that I knew didn't look all that great to begin with. Clothing doesn't hide unattractive bodies, but Keystone Light and plastic bottle vodka clouds a man's perception of them. I can usually tell ahead of time if a woman is going to look hot naked. Unlike our esteemed author, most guys develop pretty good imaginations for this sort of thing during their adolescence.

I can more or less assume what your motivation is in posting this article though. You're just looking for another reason to be disturbed and disgusted by male shallowness, to further reinforce your own negative viewpoint of yourself because you don't look like a bunch of pictures guys used to wank it to when they were 13?

Interesting question. I always wondered that too. I think they do get a bit disappointed at first but they don't care as much, specially as they get older.

I am kinda dissappointed of how unattractive the guys in porn actually are. Guys look way better in real life.

 A lot of girls say that. Although I knew a girl who had a thing for Rico Strong & Justin Slayer.

Hehe I was kidding slightly. I will pay for a night with Mark Davis, Eric Everhard, Mr. Pete and Manurl Ferrara. However I know guys in real life that are way hotter. So much for lusting over porn stars.

As a young guy you don't give a rats @ss about what a woman looks like naked, as long as she has boobies and a vagina you're good to go, the real and new experience is enough to make you forget about the porn and the pictures.

Plus I'm not sure why this is a question of young women...a lot of women in their early 20's and late teens have nice bodies, close or better to what is in porn. And as someone else stated not really unrealistic, in clubs or out in the world you can pretty much find somebody with the kind of body you'd desire and see as ideal, and really at all ages you can find women with nice bodies...obviously with age and careers and time constraints It's typically harder to maintain a "fit" body, or at least takes more effort and work to be motivated and make the time, and you might not look like a model or ideal but that's not what is important...no man compares you side by side with a woman he does desire or find extremely attractive, that's just our lust category that's a separate entity in our minds.

I think the realization comes as you get older, the guy writing that article is no young buck. Maybe If you're dating women in your youth who are out of shape and overweight, I'm sure you'd wish that she was in ideal shape when you're a young guy but the younger you are the less you actually care because your oscar meyer isn't all that picky.

As you get older as a man, that's when you start to notice the difference in body types, you become more selective since the testosterone isn't flooding your brain like it used to. But porn is just porn, and models are models, it's a fantasy separated from what you'd expect from reality and not necessarily something you'd want to prioritize or madly desire in your life.

But anyway, this is more of a question about what If you are a woman who feels less sexy or like you have a less than ideal or desirable body, I still don't believe a guy will be "disappointed"...If a guy is willing to be with you then he's accepted your body type, now If you gain weight or become "heavy" then yes that may affect a mans sexual attraction, that's just the way it is. But I've never heard a man saying..."man my GF looks like crap naked compared to ::insert his dream woman::".

I have accepted the fact that every woman will not have a body like Sofia Vergara :'''(

I suspect that regular LSers who are familiar with you don't like to be used as weapons for you to self-flagellate.

In answer to the OP, for what it's worth second-hand, all the guys I've been with have had similar experiences to TheBigQuestion. That is, they are more focused on having sex than the fact that I'm not a pornstar nor do I look like one. And for the record, most of them were nerdy and highly IT-literate - I even saw their porn collections, if that makes a difference. I'm also a generation or so older than you and the guys I've come across are able to distinguish between porn/pornstars and their own sexual experiences/partners.

No you are NOT. I know why you are posting this.

I read your thread talking about 'no guys will love me forever, they will keep checking out other women so I think I should let him bang other women'

you are just trying to convince guys average women don't look like that.

Obesity rate is like 35%. when they include chubby chicks, it would be more than 50%. you don't think guys don't know that?

The thing is Guys are smart to know what they can afford. They will settle with someone in their league. But they will still have a fantasy about hotter women (like thinking about having a yacht or jet someday, I mean someday..)

It's the same for you. you have a desire to meet some prince charming but you will end up with someone like you.

If you think you don't look good enough, work on it and make him fall in love with you with other traits you have.

In that case, I'll respond to your initial response anyway.

It isn't "bad" or "good," but what's the point in having this discussion if you are just going to be skeptical or dismissive of stories of guys like me? Every guy on LS could chime in and tell you "You know what, this girl was on my lap, grabbing my crotch and whispering some nasty s*** in my ear, and you think that at age 17 I was worried if her rack looked like Jenna Jameson's??" and you would still find fault with it in some way or another.

Then they should learn to stay out of my threads. I figure the only reason they're coming here to roll their eyes at me is because they WANT to bludgeon me across the head for.... I dunno, being ugly and caring about it, or something?

Still don't get why posters get so very twitchy that I am upset at guys' shallowness. Do they really care if some fat girl thinks they're jerks?

No, I just find it interesting how so far the responses have been," Oh we know average women don't look like that.... they look BETTER than porn stars, and I always get with really hot women anyway!" Sooooo, I guess guys' expectations of women's looks aren't disappointed so long as they sleep with hot women??

Some women have disappointed me with their personalities. I've found a lot of them to be extremely lacking in that area, but physically, no.

I see beautiful women every day. Different heights, different levels of curves, different hair colors, and I'm attracted to all these different kinds.

I don't think porn distorts body image (unless we're talking penis size), I think porn distorts the act of sex, if you let it. Porn sex and sex in real life are very different things; but I've met plenty of women whose bodies could rival a pornstar's.

I do think the media overall distorts body image for women, which is a shame, because most men do not want skinny girls. That's why I'm happy women like Nicki Minaj and Kim Kardashian are popular--personal opinions of them or their "talent" aside--they have some serious curves, and most men want that.

Life is pretty miserable, so I'm sure if I ever were to see a real life naked woman (not that I want to or ever plan on it) I'm sure it will be "disappointing".
