suladas Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 It took me 2 1/2 months but I finally did it, and am so happy I did. I didn't think it would matter, but now not being able to see her profile, I feel so much better. I never knew how strong it would be simply deleting her but I really feel like I cut a major tie to her by doing so. I sent her a message on why, I guess I broke NC but it sure doesn't feel that way, I just told her I didn't want to see her facebook anymore. If anyone is considering removing their ex, do it! It feels so good. 3
mtnbiker Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 The only good decision I made in the first week was to unfriend the ex, did that within 12 hours. I do not want to see what she is up to or he she is into. Can't truly have NC without this step-imo.
Author suladas Posted October 2, 2012 Author Posted October 2, 2012 At first I wasn't to bad because she wasn't using facebook much, but lately it became more often and a lot of times it would hurt me to see it, just menial stuff like her getting a new job, stuff like that so I knew I had to do it. And I was looking at her profile way to much, and only checking facebook to see if she posted something. I still have her number in my phone, but I stopped looking at that a while ago, it was just facebook that kept me hanging, and it's been almost a month since I texted her so I don't even see her name unless I scroll down! If I start again now, i'm not going to hesitate to delete her number to. Although it's still stuck in my head for some reason. I wish I could break the final tie of living next door to her. Not sure if that's going to happen anytime soon though. It's weird. I'm not even sad I don't see her facebook anymore. It's more of a free feeling.
KatZee Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 It does feel good. The day my ex told me it was over he was deleted. I deleted all his comments (three years worth) and got rid of all the messages, and pictures. Everything was completely wiped. According to my FB, my ex never existed. And that's the way I like it.
Author suladas Posted October 2, 2012 Author Posted October 2, 2012 Funny thing is, we never even messaged each other on facebook once, no pics no nothing. There was zero ties to each other on facebook other then us being friends, neither of us really use it much. So that's why at first I didn't think it really mattered to still be friends on there.
Simon Phoenix Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 Good step. Not sure it was necessary to message her why, would have been better to say nothing and just deleted, but it's a step in the right direction for you I think.
