Hi everyone,

Just a quick synapse: Got dumped officially last night by email, but I knew it was over 3 weeks ago. I held on to the idea that we could work it out, but it was never meant to be. Sigh.

I'm trying everything I can to empower myself and move on. I just refuse to let him make me sad anymore - mind you, I did grieve fiercely the last 3 weeks, knowing the breakup was imminent, but too scared to do it myself.

I just registered to take two courses at the university, a course on religions of the East, and a geology course on energy sources. They start in January. I have some social anxiety, but you know what? I want to meet people, and possibly a potential boyfriend. Hopefully this winter, I'll both learn and love - cheesy huh? But yeah, it's all about self-improvement. We must keep improving and growing so as not to simply exist but to live. I know I read that somewhere...not my words, but good ones to live by! :)

I'f you need help with the Buddhism stuff, I'm your pal!

Sounds like a great plan - and if I may say so - completely unrelated to the above - try to find a meditation class.

Meditation has no thing to do with either religion or spirituality, although it has that reputation. Meditation is all about calming the Mind, and taming the thoughts. And you don't have to adopt full-lotus with plinky-plonky music and smoky incense - !!

Tara, I like your responses. I'm really looking forward to the religion course especially because I know just a little bit, but have a big curiosity. I know the Western religions inside out and well...not too interested. I was raised Catholic, but always wanted to learn about Eastern practices and beliefs. I'll definitely pick you brain when the time comes, thank you for offering.

I do meditate actually! I found a podcast on ITunes about 5 months ago, mediation oasis is what it's called. I do a meditation each morning, and it helps tremendously. I think it's one of the reasons I've been so grounded lately. Although I love some strawberry incense during the meditation :)

If you don't already do so, I'd work on establishing a regular exercise regimen.

A mission of self improvement can be extremely empowering, like you already mentioned-be sure to include the body in this quest (along with mind and soul ;)).
