Recently my friend and her gf (also a friend of mine) broke up...The girl had warned me over a conversation that she might have to end things soon..It wasn't working out between them..Apparently she thought that her guy has changed over the years and there were a thousand compliations..then one night they fought and broke-up...

For two days they remained in NC and then my friend started the begging and pleading stuff like we all do.He would meet her up in person and all she would say initially was that she doesn't have feelings for him anymore and was confused. Also she started talking about a guy in her workplace and said that she had developed some sort of feelings for him...

She closed herself emotionally and my friend became an emotional wreck...However now the girl needed to shift her apartment and my friend went on and helped her...that night (yesterday) she was again back to him after some vicious hours of indecisiveness in between...

So my point is maybe begging and stuff work sometimes !!

no, it doesnt, begging and acting all needy doesnt work..... ever. Staying with someone out of pity will never work in the long run. Think about it

even I'm a big fan of NC..but she seems to be back after all the begging and pleading my friend did...she said to me today "I have realised I'm meant to be with him and only him" ..don't know if they will last though !

They won't. Begging and pleading frequently works, especially in those emotional couples days immediately following a break-up. The important caveat is that it never lasts from that point. It might last another week, another month, or another year, but no matter how you cut it that relationship is doomed if begging and bargaining got it back together.

begging and pleading only work with immature breakups ie: the dumper either never seriously consider the breakup or its some sort punishment to punish the dumpee..but no matter what they will breakup again soon because the core issues were never settled

I agree with this. If the breakup happened because of a fight where everyone is hot-headed, breaking up seems the easy way out. If the core issues were communicated and worked on, then the renewed relationship(if both parties wanted to try again and put in serious effort) will have a better chance at surviving than otherwise.
