Woggle Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 I am going to extend this olive branch because I truly am sick of feeling like I am at war with women and that I have to constantly be on the defensive and look out for when something is going to come from out of left field. Wouldn't the world be a better place if both sexes just treated each other the way they would want to be treated and showed mutual respect. Are any gender haters who mistreat the opposite sex actually happy? I am the king of cynicism on here but this dark worldview is not working for me so why not just try and see some lightness in this world? 7

Should be the same pay in the workplace--aside from that, there are roles women expect men to fill and vice versa. Most people who don't fit said roles have trouble in the dating world.

There are a few women out there who do acknowledge that they have it easier, and they have my respect. And the women out there who say they have it just as bad, when it's obviously not the case, receive nothing but disdain.

Is everything 'let's meet in half way'? There are things guys can do but girls can't. It's annoying though, people trying to prove how hard it is for them and belittling the plight of the other - sometimes maliciously, pulling stats out of everywhere and their ass to do so - rather than actually debate it like a normal person. Such is the nature of the net I suppose. If you wanna vent, go ahead. In fact, there's a whole sub-forum here dedicated to it. Stop bitching, throwing subtle digs and overt insults, and letting your emotions play with you like a little bitch. Whatever happened to balance?

I no longer believe what I was taught - I now believe what WORKS for me! I let go of all those lies... It was very freeing! 2

Yes, here on LoveShack and some other places on the Internet have taught me that there really are giant communities of men who are actively promoting hatred of women. I don't know a single man like that. And I don't know a single woman who hates men. I certainly have a vehement dislike of some members of either gender. What I really hate, myself, is bigotry, prejudice and ignorance, which all of this pitting of genders is fueled by. 3

It's never enough though. These trolls are like little boys playing with toy soldiers in the attic. They feel without purpose unless their waging war on some enemy.....and the notion of "feminism" is a popular uniting enemy. Sometimes the enemy is called a feminist. Sometimes she's "modern woman". Their ideal would be to return to an era when women were stripped of all their assets on marriage (the husband taking ownership of those assets) and when men were legally permitted to beat and rape their wives. That's the troll/misogynist outlook, and nothing less would suffice for them. If we returned to such an era, the same rationale for complaining endlessly on message boards would be employed as excuses to beat and rape the wife. That's not an era any woman with one fifth of a brain wants to return to....regardless of what rosy versions of the past are presented to us. We can read the old laws, the cases and the excerpts from old newspapers to find out the truth of how things were for women. Any man who wants to return women to that era has only his own benefits in mind. He certainly isn't contemplating the welfare and best interests of women. When that kind of misogyny is presented to us like a bunch of withered roses populated with snakes, I suppose we're meant to simper, blush and say "how kind and manly" as opposed to an unladylike but more honest "f*ck you". So Woggle. What's it to be. When you talk about gender wars and the pendulum having swung too far, how do you propose these matters should be remedied. How far is far enough for the pendulum to swing? When is it reasonable for a woman who's being presented with withered roses and snakes to respond rudely rather than in a passive and placating manner? At what point should men who come here with the primary intention of picking squabbles with women shoulder the consequences of those actions rather than expecting the female gender to endlessly accept responsibility for those men's personal issues and whipped up emotions? 1
