Mozart Posted July 26, 2004 Posted July 26, 2004 Since my last thread does not make any sense..(my apologies) Let me start a new one... When someone tells you they love you.. especially if its the first time they are saying the love you to anyone.. How do you believe them? How do you know its true.. How do they now its true? And do most first loves actually last?
Whisper Posted July 26, 2004 Posted July 26, 2004 I honestly think that a lot of times you can tell someone loves you by the way that they look at you. My ex used to, and still does look at me that certain way. It's a look that make you feel that they can hear everything your thinking, it's very intense and makes you want to look away at the same time makes you want to stare into their eyes forever. I think first loves are really never over. You'll never have a love like that, so innocent and free. But just because you still love someone does not mean you want a relationship with them.
Pained Posted July 26, 2004 Posted July 26, 2004 I have to disagree with the "first love" thing. My first true love...yeah, it was hard to get over. But no harder than the rest. In fact, it was easier, because he was merely an ok boyfriend (although at the time I felt all sorts of anguish and love and crap over him ), but I know that my current boyfriend would be nearly impossible to get over, because he's better to me than anyone has ever been before. I think people romanticize "first love" a little too much. While I'm at it, let me also say that I don't think love has to do with looks or any of that drama that you see in movies. I think true love is wishing for the other person's happiness, respecting that person, and being able to be yourself with that person.
