I prefer #2, and do find that body type more physically attractive. #1 is too slender for my taste. I strongly prefer an earthy body type over a slender one. #1 has nice tone, but not enough meat on his bones. I agree that #2 could buff up a little and trim some fat - but not too much. Just enough to tighten up and build up more strength to throw me around with

Well all celeb factor aside... I acutally prefer guys who look like #2 ... I like barrel chest guys ... and chest hair . However I generally date guys more like #1...however both are fine truthfully

Please choose one or the other and tell me why you like one over the other...

Why is it important that women reply with what body they prefer? I am more interested in that fact, please explain?

I didn't know that was G. Butler until I read the URL, but his pic gave me a jolt to the groin.

The Perkins pic did not....but it's Anthony Perkins! Maybe someone less Anthony Perkins?

Any woman who picks number 2 as more attractive is either out of shape or insecure.

What if I pick number 1? Can I still be out of shape and insecure. :)

This thread objectfies men dammit.

You're always going to get some votes for Gerard Butler because women don't factor physique in a ton when they judge guys.

In my experience, physique as an issue with women has more to do with ruling guys out. Every woman has a list of "no way" exclusions that just don't arouse her. Every woman has a "too fat" limit. Every woman has a "too skinny" limit.

Even funnier, every woman has at least one guy who completely violates those limits that she would still let violate her. I know a girl in her early 20s who was saying she'd do Uncle Phil from the Fresh Prince of Bel Air. Soooooo . . . ya see the problem there, fellas?

Even though women are known for liking "pretty things", you'd be surprised at just how little women have in terms of taste in aesthetics.

I'm a straight man who doesn't really care about how things look (within reason), I'd live in a trailer or a cabin if i had to. But even I cringe at the hare-brained ideas women have for decorating their homes (such as painting walls...yellow). This extends into art, taste in literature, but most of all , taste in men. That is why gay men supposedly make the best interior decorators, they have the interests of bourgeois women, coupled with ingrained aesthetics of men.

If I were to create a sculpture of what a beautiful human looks like, it would be the first picture. However, women are more turned on by power and dominance. In that photo , Gerard Butler looks more flabby sure, but he is bigger boned over all than the first guy, so women associate more brutality and power with him (even though he's probably a nice guy, women like to correlate arbitrary character traits to physical ones).

A big fat guy who looks tough, like say, a stereotypical biker, will be a lot more attractive to women than a man with an aesthetically beautiful body. Women want violence and domination, not aesthetic beauty. This is why there has never been a brilliant woman artist or musical composer.

Hmmm... So let me get this straight. Heterosexual women are supposed to base their sexual attraction on the opinions of straight men simply because those straight men say their opinions are better? Somehow I don't think that quite jives with the mechanism of sexual selection, which has been driving the evolution of humans for millions of years. What women consider attractive in men is more important than what men consider attractive in men, because women are the ones who are going to be having sex with men and choosing which ones get to pass on their genes.

I like body 1.

If you run, you probably have an awesome runners body. Find a girl who also runs, she will likely love your body. I cycle, love guys who cycles bodies, although imagine a lot of women wouldn't like their 10 year old boy looking upper bodies. They have AMAZING ass and thighs, which make me swoon haha current guy used to be a pro cyclist and for me his body is my ideal mans body.

So don't go by general population, just go by whether the girls you like like you.

Given the amount of attention I receive from women, i'm going to have to say that their favorite male physique is that of a fat, hairy, cave creature.

Focusing on just the bodies and not the actors, I'd say both. I've experienced both body types and they both have their charms.

However, as CarrieT wrote, it's really more about the whole package.

This might sound strange but you can learn a lot from Austin Powers, for me its more about the confidence and character.

Attraction is basic on more than physical.

Ever looked at someone and said, i dont know what it is but there's something about him/her.

Mojo, The Xfactor, Something about them.......

Ive been attracted to oldies, baldies, fatties, skinny's.........

Confidence and character is attractive.

Give me a break...Anthony Perkins does not look out of shape. Perkins has the body of sub-3 hour marathoner. I suppose he's out of shape to you because he probably can't bench more than 200lbs?

I run the 800 meters in 1:58, a mile in 4:40, and the 5K in 16:18. Yep...people call me out of shape all the time....lolol.

Women late 20s up definitely factor physique into their desirability rating (just as guys do), more than they did when younger imo. I agree with you on the 2nd part but not the first. You think Gerard Butler is a poor specimen for man over 40?? gerard butler

You don't need to be ripped or have a 6pack for most women as they get towards the baby making years and past. Rugged, big and beefy, broad or tall rocks for women. If the guy is too ripped & muscely they worry about keeping him faithful + it puts the pressure on them to diet & exercise to keep him.
