Let me explain it like this. Bruce Lee's martial art Jeet Kune Do, which translates to Way of the Intercepting Fist, is his articulation, his expression as his martial self. JKD isn't as much as an art as it is an expression of his martial arts abilities. If you train using Bruce's philosophies and training principles, even if you "do" JKD, your self expression as a martial artist will be unique to your own abilities and proclivities. Game is much the same as we're all individuals and that's why trying to imitate another person's style of game is foolish at best.

 

Many systems of Game exist, but even if you follow one to a T how you are as social being is going to be different from the person who invented the system. And that's why I think following systems is a mistake. What might work for Mystery won't work for Neil but might work for Sinn or vice versa. There is a lot of overlap between the various systems out there because some things are universal, but a lot isn't applicable across the board. The key is to recognize when something isn't going to work for you, disregard what is useless, and absorb what is useful.
