warb Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 Basically there's a work colleague that I've known for a few months now and we get on very well. In a nut shell I ended up asking her to come watch a film with me and she agreed. We had the "date" last night, and it went very well. I went to pick her up, she invited me into her house and I met her mum, then we went to the cinema. We ended up having the WHOLE cinema to ourselves because we missed the original showing so we got the really late one instead. There was never any awkwardness, at least not that I could sense, we took lots of stupid pictures next to the big life-like posters, went to the shops to buy sweets to sneak in her handbag rather than pay the stupid prices at the cinema, and just had a good laugh. I paid for the tickets, she tried to give me the money and kept putting it in my pocket but I just kept giving it her back. I'm really inexperienced when it comes to dating, I've not been on a date for a fair few years now () so I really struggle to read the signs. During some of the more violent scenes in the movie she did keep touching my arm, kinda pushing me as if to say PLEASE MAKE IT STOP!, but that was the only physical contact really. At the end of the film I drove her home, we spoke for a bit in the car and then she thanked me for paying and driving her. She didn't seem to be in a rush to get out of the car, but because I'm inexperienced I really didn't want to risk going in for a kiss, so I left it. She then asked me to text her when I get home to let her know I got home safe, and I watched her to the door and left, got a goodnight text and that was that. Was I stupid for not trying the kiss? Or shall I try and get another 1 on 1 with her and try again? Is there anything I can do to draw out some signs from her as well? Because I'm so comfortable and confident around her I can't help but think she thinks I'm actually experienced and I'm just not going in for the kiss because I'm not interested, but that really isn't the case. Any help would be appreciated! Sorry for whining.
yoman38 Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 The kiss isn't as important as you think just go out on another date and more dates, and get to know her. Slowly show physical signs play around with her gently push her or tickle her or something. And then when you feel comfortable go for a kiss. This was a date yes, but realize a date doesn't mean much at first just take it easy and see how things go.
